Comments about Dixon Demon 5-Piece Shell Pack:

I am very happy with this kit. I bought it a few years ago. I have done gigs with the kit, as well as recorded with it, and it hasn't let me down. The drums sound amazing every time. As with all instruments, where you play them does change the sound, poor room acoustics can hinder the tone, however, even in these rooms this kit stands out. It is a quality drum kit. The price certainly is low for the quality of this set.

      mhm theyre drums alrite!!

      By Richard Keefer

      from Baltimore md

Comments about Dixon Demon 5-Piece Shell Pack:

ok.. first off,. its the best drumset for the money. It has birch and mahogony shells ,with a standard 45 degree edge wich sounds great for what i is. Toms tune well and have great sustane. ( i recomend some ec2's o emporers) kit sounds good live and recorded. yes i actually record with these. (they sound better then any ddrum or tama recorded in my opinion )
now the bad. The powder coating on the hardware does come off in time. however it may just be me and my playing rim shots all the time. oh. and the 10" des go out of tune in %songs but its always the tension rods closest to you. hope this helped

      Great sounding drum

      By David Hillman

Comments about Dixon Demon 5-Piece Shell Pack:

Great product at great price. Dixon has been known for offering great hardware at affordable price, but this drum really blows me away! At this price, this drum offers quality that's far above my expectation. The shell is well built, comes with Evans head, great finsih and great Brich sound!
Comparing to drums in the same price range, this drum is for sure one of the best you can find out there.

      Great buy for intermediate drummer!

      By Chris O'Toole

      from Duuuuvvaaaalll

Comments about Dixon Demon 5-Piece Shell Pack:

Has great sound once very precisely tuned. Able to play slightly looser head tension to get that fat sound (or tighter, if you're in to jazz) without sacrificing tonal loss with Evans Coated Heads. Impressive price for birch and mahogany kit! You need two boom stands, or a rack, to suspend toms. Toms may need retuning every 5-10 sessions if you like to throw down heavily. Snare is deep but requires very loose tuning to get a pop which sacrifices stick rebound. Too tight, and snare has high pitched over-tone that rings vigorously. Bass drum sounds amazing, and stays in tune indefinitely as I only play double bass pedals. Big bang for your buck, but lacks in overall quality if you've become accustomed to high end sets.
