Comments about Dunnett Classic Titanium Snare Drum:

There's a reason this snare has won awards in the past and carries a somewhat high price tag. It's an awesome titanium snare drum! A MF discount makes this drum worth every penny. It sounds great on medium and higher tuning. Crisp attack and dry! In my opinion, this is one of the only snare drums that came out of the box, with nothing needing to be changed. The minor exception of that being the drum comes equipped with the Dunnett R-180 Throw-off instead of the Dunnett R-40 Swivel. The R-180 works great, I just prefer the R-40 swivel look and functionality. Usually you need to upgrade the heads and possibly change the hoops to something heavier or lighter. I feel this drum comes equipped with exactly how Ron Dunnett intended for it to be played and is worth the investment.

Comments about Dunnett Classic Titanium Snare Drum:

This is a great sounding snare, it is my go-to snare in the studio for 75% of my recordings. It sounds great at any tuning range. Sure it is expensive, but it sounds like no other.

One con I would like to point out is the strainer. If you like your strainer relatively loose a la Bonham style for maximum sensitivity, it will loosen even more over the course of a few hard hitting songs even to the point where it is not really touching the bottom head. A design improvement would be to make the adjustment stepped like Trick strainers are--that way it stays locked in place at any setting.

You could upgrade to the Trick strainer but it involves filing one of the holes about 2mm because the hole spacing is so close to the hole spacing of the Trick strainer.

Comments about Dunnett Classic Titanium Snare Drum:

I got this Dunnett titanium at a deal from musiciansfriend,
It is one hack of a snare, I am totally utterly impressed!

It reached Singapore last week at the 4th week of april and i have been using it since,

            1. The dunnett titanium is one of the lightest or in fact the lightest shell i have ever weigh,
            2. The triple flanged hoops are one of the thinnest and lightest hoops ever,
            3. The drum is written with Ronn Dunnett's signature and name and date,
            Mine is Griffin 2.1.2012
            4. The heads given is a remo ambassador x and dunnett snare hazy - exclusive to Dunnett, according Ronn Dunnett, it is labelled as "thin" weight.
            5. There is pencil marking at the side of the drum writing the name, date and signature,
            6. The drum is so personal and custom that you can even see Ronn's finger prints inside, you can easily wipe it off but i would prefer to keep it,
            7. The snare is crisp, articulate, Has a wide tuning range and it is rather dry, which explains why the snare wire is 42 strands.
            8. At such a light weight, it is real easy to bring your snare out for jamming and gigs without panting midway through your journey,

At such, i would like to say that i am not paid by Ronn dunnett to write this,
I am so impressed by this snare that i would recommend everyone whom has enough MOJO to buy it.
