Overall this pedal is incredible. You can loosen it up a bit to get those fast fills or tighten it to get really good attack. Change the distance between the head and the beater if you want. You can adjust footboard angle. You can really make this pedal work for you and that in itself is something worth buying.
The number of adjustments you can make on this pedal is great. It allows you to make this pedal feel how YOU want it to and you just can't beat that.
This thing is built like a tank. I read A LOT of reviews talking about screws loosening and falling out and maybe DW saw that because mine came with Loctite on every screw on the pedal.
The price is incredible for the amount of options and customizations you can make with this pedal.

I purchased this pedal about a year ago. It worked nicely for about 2 or 3 months. Then I began to notice squeaking and extra friction when I played, and one day, while playing for my church, the stock springs just broke. For no reason. I always play with medium force and they just broke. The screws for the connecting tube ALWAYS get loose and fall off, and I'm missing about 3 of them. The beaters are very heavy and do not feel well at all. Adjusting this pedal is awful. It takes so much patience and barely makes a difference. My double bass drumming has gotten slower and slower, most likely from the pedal, because all of my other pedals have worked perfectly. I strongly advise that you go with a different pedal. It may look flashy and awesome, but it's not worth the problems you will have. Go with an Iron Cobra or Eliminators if you're looking for a great set of pedals. Do NOT buy.

I got these to replace my Yamaha (Flying Dragon) pedals, Stright out of the box without having to make any adjustments I could play faster on these with more power than the Yamaha. I am still getting use to them but I am already a better double bass player because of these.
There are almost too many features and adjustments. I don't even want to know what tht 9000's are like.
Heavy Duty, built like a champ.
Price could always be less if you ask me.

I've owned several double pedals through the years and I'm really happy with the quality of this one. I too have had a little bit of problem with lugs loosening but a little bit of threadlock solves that problem. Over all, I'm really happy I went with DW.
ive had these pedals now for almost 2 years and i will never buy a dw pedal again. for the first year they were ok, the slave side did feel heavy but i got used to it. the lugs will not stay tight no matter what and i ended up loosing half of them along with the memory lock. that i can deal with, thats just part of being in a band that has 2 gigs every weekend. but in the last 2 months one of the chains (thats right the double chains) broke in the middle of a set and now the springs have streached. its not worth all the trouble and aggravation. ive also heard that dw foot boards are notorious for actually breaking in half and i can see where my main pedal looks like its ready to go. after the chain broke i realised how hard it is to actually find the dw replacement parts in Canada where i live. save your money and get a demon drive, i am..
I had the choice between Iron Cobras and these and knowing Neil Peart used to play on DWs so I went with these. In the end I feel horrible and I'm getting the Iron Cobras. The left pedal has too much drag and Ive tried EVERYTHING. Just wont be steady. Sticks to the ground pretty well. The best part of these pedals is probably the beaters. If you wanna sound professional and get nice steady bass hits... don't buy this pedal.
I'm a trap set pro, and have been for years, and the DW 5002AD3 Accelerator Pedal is by far the most magnificent double pedal. It combines a sturdy, smooth feel with intense speed. Definately worth the money. I recomend it to any self respecting drummer with an apt for alacrity in their drumming and an alternative music based sound.
so much fun to play with. i love them, when they work. i've played two shows since ive had these pedals and each time, screws, usually the ones connecting the rods between the pedals, unscrew completely. and its not possible to tighten them so they dont. they just always always loosen and fall out if you dont stay ontop of them. Besides that, i love them. They feel fluid and quick. Heavy yet flow like water. they are alot of fun. i suggest them, just keep an eye on those bolts.
So I've had these pedals for a little over 2 years now. They were great when I first got them (I guess...). As time went by, more and more things just had problems. Screws for the connecting rod came off constantly. And worst of all, the slave pedal had some kind of build up in the bearing that made it sluggish and ANNOYING to play. And it's almost impossible to remove the parts and get to the bearing to try and oil it up. I honestly expected a lot better from such an expensive pedal. Aside from the problems I encountered, I guess the pedals are decent. It's hard to adjust the pedals at all let alone equally between both pedals. Very limited on adjustment in general. Looking back, I regret not getting Iron Cobras. Don't waste your time or money. DW can make some monstrous drums, but from my experience, their pedals are truly lacking - they just have their name that sells it, although I haven't used the 9000's. You may have some luck with that, but good luck getting the cash for that.
I have had Iron Cobras and they are to light for me i always had a problem with its spring tension it just never was tight enough for me and the noise that the pedal makes while wearing shoes was to anoying too even look at them again, so i bought these and WOW! smoother, quieter, faster and more durable. I can reach faster hits and the heel-toe method is easier, probly cus of the slightly larger board also the pedal has many adjustment which u don't really need its almost perfect right outta the box. I love how easy this pedal bounces quicky right off the drumhead it helps a lot with speed. These are great buy them now u wont regret it, and they look cool too.
