Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

Incredible cymbal stand.! This monster is built like a tank with the high quality hardware you would expect from DW. I really love this stand! Your options for setting up and positioning your cymbals are endless!! At first I had my K custom hybrid 17" crash to the left of my snare, above the hi hat, a 16" A custom fast crash on the right boom, right of the snare above my 10" rack tom. Connected to the stand was an 8" tom clamped to the 9799 with an additional 10" A custom splash with the boom positioned between my rack toms!! It could handle everything I put on it but it was a bit much :). So I took the splash off and kept everything else the same. This stand can hold a lot more than you think and cover a lot of real-estate while maintaing amazing stability!. It's also very easy to get the placement of your cymbals exactly where you want them. :) This stand is really heavy, and trying to move it once you have everything on would not be recommended. With that said I strongly recommend putting some thought into where you want to put it. This will keep you from wasting time and possibly injuring yourself trying to move it (depending on the size and amount of cymbals you are going to use.) I definetly recommend this stand for studio use and for gigging if you use a lot of cymbals playing live. It really works great in small venues where space is limited. I guarantee if you buy this stand right now., in a few days you will be one happy drummer. I am!

    Great Stand

    By Ronald Weber

from It's high in the middle, and round on the sides.

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

I got the idea to use a double-cymbal stand after seeing Danny Carey's set. I wanted something that would have a small footprint, and allow me to mount my cymbals, and a small tom, directly in front of me, and relatively close together. A double-cymbal stand seemed like an ideal solution, and it really has worked well.

I currently have two Paiste Signature crash cymbals, one 18", and the other 19", as well as an 8" acrylic tom mounted on this stand. The stand holds them remarkably well, especially considering that the cymbals, and tom, are heavier than most. I am not sure why others think that you can't mount larger cymbals to this, as I have no trouble with the 18 and 19" cymbals side-by-side, with room to spare.

The only complaint I have is that, with the stock felts, and stock washers, the cymbals don't have much swing to them. This may be fine for some, but with these particular cymbals, I like them to move freely. I think a nyloc nut would be a better option, as it would allow looser settings for those who desire it, without rattling, or having the nut work loose. As another reviewer mentioned, one may obtain these cheaply at a hardware store. I would rather not have to, though.
Allows multiple options for configuration, and a large range of adjustment. I think they should come with nylocs, though.
This stand is very sturdy. Of course, this means it is also heavy. However, I am using this stand primarily for the studio, so there will be minimal movement.
An expensive piece of hardware, to be sure. Still, it will last a lifetime, and takes the place of two stands, so the price really isn't that bad.

    I want another!!

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

This stand is amazing. Currently, I have it holding my ride cymbal and my china; I also have a 18" crash attached on the middle appliance thing of the stand and a boom arm holding up a 8" splash. So, I recommend it for it being able to hold up so much weight.

    Very sturdy and reliable stands

    By Tom (Driven)

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

I bought 2 of these stands (holds four cymbals) about 2 years ago. They are still like new today. They are extremely durable. I am a heavy hitter and I gig regularly in a rock band. Not only do they support the heaviest of cymbals, they handle extra gear clamped on. On one of these stands, I have an 18" crash, 16" China, 6" splash (off an attached boom arm), and a cowbell tree clamped on it as well. One down side is that the top wing nut (above the cymbal) does not stay on unless you tighten it all the way. For me, this does not allow for the cymbal to move properly when struck. I got around this by replacing the wing nuts with 1/2 inch locking nuts. You can find these at any hardware store.

    perfection has been reached

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

Alright so I'm a big fan of DW hardware, especially the 9000 series. I use this to hold my 16 inch A Custom Crash and 9 inch K Custom Hybrid Splash. I may add a third boom arm to the stand and splurge on the 11 inch K Custom Hybrid Splash sometime, and if I do I'm sure the stand will still be great. This gives you pretty good versatility and it eliminates the clutter of having a dozen cymbal stands. It won't budge for me, it's very stable. If you want a quality piece of hardware and versatility than by all means, go ahead and invest with DW.

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

I use this stand for 2 16" crashes and add another boom arm for my 8" splash. You could even go with larger cymbals if desired. It is very sturdy and is a DW,Says it all.

    Handy Stand

    By Anonymous

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

This is the most versatile stand in my setup. 2 Cymbals for the floor space of 1 and a spare clamp for something else (3rd Cymbal!). This (as well as all other DW stands) is well worth the investment.

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

I own two of these beauties. One on the right side and left side of my set for a crash/splash set up. It's amazing. There are so many different ways to put the cymbal its just like buying two cymbal stands, but you save up space!

Better splash or small china stand

    By Eclipteddrummer

    from Faribault, MN

Comments about DW 9799 Double Cymbal Stand:

I bought this stand to have two cymbal on one stand. The only problem is that even with 2 16 in cymbals you could not fit them on there or they would touch with out them being to far away from eachother. I now use this stand as my 2 splashs and 2 small chinas. Use this product for smaller cymbals you want close to eachother. For other purposes, go with the regular DW stand.
