Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
Great, comfortable seat! It's huge and solid. The seat easily comes apart for breaking down. Not sure where the other comment came from that says it doesn't. They must have a different throne.
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
Hey, my name is Alex H. and here is my tale:
I recieved this throne a few weeks ago and have since, played and simply sat on the throne for many hours doing other things. This thing is NICE. It does not wobble or shift. The construction is super solid and should hold up for years to come. The Wide motorcycle style seat is the perfect throne seat for playing extended hours. Also, with the synthetic leather you don't have to worry about the "funk" creeping into your throne that cloth seats will attract. I also have a hydrualic (pneumatic) roc-n-soc throne with backrest (for about 9 years now). It has been good to me, but I knew somthing better was out there.
The roc-n-soc has a sort of hump in-between your legs, and I tend to lean forward when I am playing.. Therefore, after a few hours with that going on and it becomes a bit discomforting (to say the least). This throne does not have this problem at all, let's just say my load is well distributed. Also since the Soc is cloth now if I hit it with my stick all kinds of magical Funk nasty dust comes out, this will not ever be the case with the DW throne (yay, hygiene). The air-lift suspension helps ease the pressure on your back when playing for long periods also (always go pneumatic)
A great throne, a must buy for sure. The only down side is that the optional back rest is slightly crooked! not part of this particular product, I know But it still relfects upon it that's why I couldn't give a 10.
Could be price more competetively
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
I bought the bigger one with the back rest. It is very comfortable and great to use. No more pain in the legs or back for me. Although I got a bargain when I bought this the were getting rid of alot of stock and I got the for half price. I don't think I would have paid full price for it. But in saything now that I've got it and am spending hours jamming I feel like i should have had it from the start. Great throne!
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
This is by far the best drum throne I have ever owned. Very sturdy. I have no idea why others have posted that you cannot take the seat off once installed. That could not be any further from the truth! I do it all the time.
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
This is typical DW 9000 awesome quality and very comfortable with great padding. BUT there is a huge problem with the design. Once the seat is placed on the stand, it can't be removed. Read that again. It is permanently stuck on the throne stand. If you leave it in your home or studio, fine, it is great. If you will travel with it ... forget it.
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
When you are 6'2 & 300lbs, not just any throne will do. I've used Tama's Ergo Rider with good results, but when I saw this throne and finally got it home, there is none better for large drummer's like me. It has EVERYTHING I've been loking for in a complete drum throne. A LARGE round seat, very dense padding, a hydraulic lever for quick adjustments, back support & a very heavy-duty 4 legged base (you can't tip it or knock it over!). There isn't a better throne on the market right now. It is well worth every penny I paid. Thank you DW!
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
This was such a great buy! The pad isn't as soft as say a pork pie, but it isn't as hard as a rock! With the hydraulic positioning, I no longer have to get up everytime to adjust. Pricey, but if you're willing to pay for comfort, get this!
Comments about DW Heavy-Duty Air Lift Throne:
one thing that's usually overlooked when buying drums is the throne. Well, let me tell you, there is nothing worse than playing for extended periods of time on an uncomfortable seat, any drummer will tell you that. This seat, however, is VERY comforatble. I would recommend it if you can spare the cash. You can also move it up and down with ease. Anyone who wants to be comforatble while they play should get this.
