This is a great addition to any set. I was able to easily fit this tom into my set( I keep a very compact profile), and I'm sure I will soon be looking to rearrange my set to accomodate at least one more of these toms. It immeadiately added a new dimension to my playing. I have always kept my set pretty basic, but you can always teach and old dog new tricks.
This tom has a fantastic sound. The rimshot "pop" is classic. It's center tone has a good punch. Overall, a very clean sound. It was almost perfectly tuned, right out out of the box, just a minor adjustment.
I couldn't give it a 10, only because I know there is always something out there that's better. It is surprisingly solid and there's no pot metal in this drum.
At first, I was looking to match my 1970's Ludwig set, but those toms were almost double in cost. The chrome allows it to blend with anything, and the low profile makes it very practical. The mounting bracket is rock solid, this unit will be last thing on my set to fall apart.

It's a great add on and might just buy another, easy to assemble. The mounting brackets need to still be put on. Reason being so it doesnt damage the drum while being shipped.
I just bought this last week and I am very impressed with its sound it projects. Thought I would want to replace its head but it sounds better than my Evans G2 heads. I might just buy all DW heads from now on with the tone control ring coated on.
I already own a lot of DW products such as my favorite Collectors' Series Snare. I bought the 8" Piccolo Tom thinking it would make a great add on, as it did, and I didn't expect it to be as good as it actually is. Barely had to tune it, the chrome matched my drums perfectly.
As it is a DW product, it doesnt cost a lot of money like all their other products. The drum heads on the drum are more than the standard drum heads price, and I prefer the DW heads on toms.

Many of us have older kits or kits that simply don't have matching smaller toms available. With the right heads and muffling, you can make this little drum sound like it was made for your kit. Many of us like a full palette to work on and this drum gives us that option. Chrome goes with any finish and the three sizes are incredibly versitile. I couldn't live without mine!

I've played on these toms at a friends house and was suprised on the quality of the drums were after the three years he's had them. I'm looking to buying the 8' and 10' toms and adding them to my PDP set. These toms make my fills so much more unique than before, good for the fills and transitions.

I recently bought this drum and have been amazed by the overall quality and versatility. I own a 4 piece PDP drum set and I decided it was time to add on. When I got the drum, I tried it out immediately. I was very satisfied with the overall tonal spectrum of the drum. Trust me, this drum (although only 2" deep) will certainly surprise you with its sound. Also, this drum has the capability to fit any style of music. I am in a punk rock band and I always found places to stick in a little fill on this piccolo tom. I don't think you can find any other drum with such good quality for this good of a price. If you are thinking about buying this drum, you should with out a doubt purchase it.

DW products are unparalleled. If you want to expand your musical range or just play around with sounds, these are just great. With Terry Bozzio as the artist assiting in the production of these, the toms are like no other. They are wuite as I call them, "Deftone" and provide a clear, unaltered sound with flavor to please a crowd as well as yourself. There so good sometimes you feel like you are with Terry yourself, playing alongside him. Although equipment doesn't buy talent, I adore these.

I wanted to add a higher pitch tom to my kit. I didn't exactly want an LP timbali, but I like the sound of a roto-tom, yet still wanting a quality drum manufacturer. This is it, if you're not able to find regular matched smaller toms for your kit, this is the best one to go with. Warm sound with DW quality, these are a good deal!

I got this tom and had second thoughts, but then I set it up and WOW! I love it. Everyone should have one. I set up my 10" piccolo tom on the left of my 12" mounted tom. These toms are so easy to set up and fit virtually anywhere on any kit. LONG LIVE DW!
