I've been playing for roughly 11 years now. When I started out, I had a Pearl practice pad, and it just didn't feel like a real drum. The Remo one was almost the exact same. I saw our marching percussion instructor with this one my Freshman year of high school, and decided to buy one myself! I am now 25, and STILL use it all the time! It helps build speed and strength, and you can also get a GREAT rimshot off of it. I've even decorated the rubber side with a sharpie, and it looks awesome! I absolutely love this practice pad, and would recommend it to anybody! I'm even getting one for my 11 year old nephew for his birthday this year!

It's alright
It's an OK pad. The rubber on the top isnt "real feel" I think it feels TOTALLY synthetic. I really don't like it.

I just started drumming. I started by getting some sticks and banging on furniture. Then I got a snare drum. Well, that's a terrible racket if you can't drum very well so I got me one of these things. The grey side does have similar rebound characteristics as the snare drum. The black side also bounces but not as much. Drumming on this thing is very pleasant and I will get a lot of practice on my rudiments with how much fun it is. Sturdy little gadget. It would be able to mount it on something like my snare stand. Otherwise, this = good.

I would certainly recommend this to somebody looking for a travel-convenient practice pad!
I bought the smaller 6" unit because I take it with me when I have to travel for work so I can still pracrice my rudiments. It works great. Two-sided: one side bouncier than the other -- which is "louder". I use the louder side when working with my Dbl-Bass pedals. Overall, a really useful tool for serious drummers!
Semms it will hold-up just fine.

Amazing product. Best pad on the market today. It feels just like the old school gum rubber pads. Can't go wrong with this pad, or any Evans products.
The grey, softer side gives a good feel for practicing your pieces and whatnot. While the black, harder side gives you the feel you need to build your chops and warm up.

I started using this drumpad at skool between songs and i loved it. i ended up bying it cus my vik firth was way lod and dented my stiks. igot the 6" and it is way portabl!!!

I was pretty excited about ordering this since my old 6" drum pad seldom held my interest. By not having a set right now, I would probably go insane without this product as I am always drumming on something. Anyway, no disappointment. Great product that will most likely last for a long time if you take care of it.

I bought this because my remo practice pad was too loud and woke up my roommates. Although a little pricey, this is a really great, quiet alternative to a louder remo pad. It's built very solidly and both sides have a great feel. One side bounces, and the other doesn't bounce as much. I would definitely recommend this pad to anyone. Definitely buy the 12 inch one, the 6 inch is just way too cramped.

This pad is the bomb. i bought and have used 5 times a week at minimum for the past 3 years and the thing still hasnt worn out. Definate buy!!
