Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:
I got this head to replace old ones. I was using dead ringers on the old ones and absolutely hated dealing with them. So I wanted a deeper head to eliminate the over ring. I was skeptical because of other reviews saying these were bad heads. I decided to just get them and try them and I glad I did they are the perfect sounding head for my tastes. The sound is punchy and with little sustain, it sounds like a Evans Hydraulics head with a dead ringer. I would recommend these to anyone who likes a deeper "thud."

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:
Ever since I first saw these I was curious as to how they would sound. I normally use coated G2s, which I love, but I wanted to give these a try. I find they sound a lot like the the G2s with a little more attack. They look nice, even on a white drum set. The only minor drawback is that they scuff like a clear head, but because of the black ply, it stands out more. Of course that doesn't affect the sound quality at all. I will probably switch all my toms to these (I just switched 2 initially to see how they sounded.)

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:
I've been an Evans user for about a year now. I've been trying to find the perfect sound since I started drumming. I've tried the EC2's and G2's and I just couldn't get the sound I wanted out of my toms. I purchased these heads and needless to say I'm in love. These heads are very punchy weather its a high or low batter tuning. My 10' tom has the perfect amount of attack and sustain and its not too bright. These heads have a clear top and a black bottom ply so you don't get black all over your cymbals/sticks. They are also very durable and they keep their tone/tuning. They look very nice aswell. These heads don't require moongels to sound nice either, I will never use moongel agaib. Overall, they are as great as Evans advertises. If your looking for a nice looking, great punchy, low end sounding, & durable drum head, this head is for you!

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:
i recently bought this head and it looked great at first. after playing on it for a few days it didnt look so good any more. it also doesnt sound good after hitting it kinda hard for a few days. i personally dont like the sound of it when its tuned medium to low but i think it would sound great as my high toms but it isnt that great for low toms. it also has a very high choke point which means it will break before you choke or muffle the head
