Upgrade your kit with new heads.

The Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack includes a set of 12"/13"/16" G2 clear tom heads, a 14" SD Dry snare head and a 22" EMAD bass drum head. The G2 tom heads are double-plied for a full, meaty tone that combines a satisfying blend of attack and warmth, plus they're very durable. The SD Dry 14" coated snare head provides all the articulation and dynamics of a single-ply head, while controlling overtones and offering the durability of a double-ply drumhead. The now legendary EMAD bass drum head has become the standard for both studio and live performance. Its unique active dampening system allows you to control the desired amount of overtones from your drum throne by adjusting the batter side external tone ring. Simply remove the ring for more overtones (a more "live" sound) or keep it in for a more thuddy bass drum timbre.

Freshen up your kit sound. Order today.

The tom and kick heads sound great and achieve the sound i was looking for; however, the snare sound is just awful, I don't like it at all. Otherwise the Evans EMAD system is a good setup for a decent price, the heads are on a Pearl Forum kit at time of review.

I bought this pack for my Mapex V-series 7piece (adding another head to my 10" rack tom and already having one G2 head as it was) and I am blown away at the sound I have coming from my kit.  I feel I am not the best at tuning drums, and find it difficult to get a sound I am satisfied with, but with this pack it took only a few moments for each drum.  The bass head in itself is absolutely remarkable, and in short is my favorite head I have ever purchased.

Pick these up.  You won't be disappointed...and if you are, you're doing it wrong.

The sound is well worth the price.

Overall:

I recently decided to experiment by changing up my normal purchasing habit and trying these instead of my typical REMO purchase.  I bought this package set along with the EMAD bass drum resonant head.  After installing and playing, I am completely enamoured with the transformation.  I didn't realize that such tone was hidden in my kit.  The bass drum sounds very deep with no overtones.  It sounds very pleasant and professional.

As for the heads, I have grown accustomed to really "working" a drum/drums to capitalize on them tonally.  These Evans heads sound wonderful.  I can play at high or low volume and the tone is very forward.  I found the snare head to be interresting with systematic pin hole  perforations around the entire head about an inch from the inside of the  rim.  The snare sounds great!  Not only do I get the snare sound, but  the tone of the snare head is also reasonably pronounced.

I would describe these as warm and sweet.  I've not been so pleasantly surprised over a purchase in a very long time.

Replaced the stock heads on my new Ludwig Epics with these and in a word - WOW! The tone and "focus" of each drum is vastly improved.  The toms now have a defined "note"-much less muddy than before.  The snare is much the same.  But the EMAD on the kick, simply awesome.  Lowered the pitch, reduced the overtones, in short my kick sounds great! I bought Evans EC clear resonant heads for the toms which has added to the improvement. Buy these - you won't be disappointed!

So these arrived a couple of weeks back and i just put them on my kit and i have to say they are the best sounding drums heads I have used to this day. I have heard DW drums with these heads on and they just sound out of this world. I dare say my kit sounds almost or just as good as a DW with Evans Heads now. These heads are amazing that i will not consider buying any other heads except for Evans. Totally worth every penny i spent on them.
