I love the Evans EMAD bassdrum heads. I used them on my 22" rock bass as well as my 18" jazz/acoustic bass, and I recommend them to all my drumming friends. Both drums sounds amazing with these heads. The EMAD system does a great job of providing just enough dampening without killing the tone. I've never had any quality issues with the foam. In fact, I sometimes use an extra foam ring on my 16" floor tom. Great product!

I thought this head would solve my problems. I had an Evans EQ3, which I absolutely loved. The hole cracked from the microphone bumping the edge, and I eventually blew a hole threw the head. I thought the EMAD would be the way to go, but I was wrong. It is the same thickness as the EQ3, but it produces extra overtones, which I hate. I never had to throw a blanket in my bass drum, but now I do. In addition to that, the pads are horrible. I put them on properly, never tearing them, and they both ripped after one use. I'm not a heavy hitter by any means. I should have read the reviews before I bought this head. Save a few extra bucks and get the EQ3 if you are an Evans fan, because this one is not worth it.

Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
I do reccomend this to anyone who is looking for a Embad bass head
I like this very much the features are nice i reccomend anyone to buy this for any type of sounds.
I think the price is a little too high but its better then what i have seen around for my 22inch
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
I had always play Remo- exclusively. I took a chance and bought the EMAD system (batter and resonant) for my kick drum and I couldn't be happier. I use the wider of the two rings supplied with nothing else for dampening. I did not port the resonant head, although I think I might someday jst for fun. I play a 22"X20" maple shell kick and the EMAD plus the extra depth gives a sound that I've never been able to get to this point in 30+ years pf playing. Keep bass drums heads in perspective please- shell material. drum size, and the person on the throne account for 90% of the drum sound equation. Heads are the remaining 10%.
Love the two provided foam rings. It's all you need to get be up and running in about 10 minutes. No more experimenting with duct tape, paper towels, and other junk.
Evans, you've come a long way...
All drum heads seem overpriced. This is no exception. Not horrible though
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
This has just the right over tone a drummer who wants a rumble resonating deep bass overtone with no additional dampening, very impressed! Gave me a new found respect for evens drum heads never used them before always used Remo

GREAT PRICE AND MAKES MY BASS DRUM SOUND AMAZING
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
I got this and was like "Thank you drum gods!" I have an emad batter head,so both that and this together makes it soo fat and punchy with the right amount of resonence(If you tune it properly) that sounds like studio quality in at any gig. This is freakin ace!
What can i say?Its got the great Emad system
Its the besst!!!!(For bass drums)
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
I recently purchased the EMAD resonant head in conjunction with the Evans EMAD batterhead and I couldn't be more pleased. My bass drum sounds very deep with no overtones; very pleasant and professional. I've always used REMO exclusively, but unless someone tips me off on something that trumps them, I'll be sticking with these! Sometimes experimentation pays dividends!
Nice and effective. More thought put into this head than any other that I'm aware of.
I have experienced no problems with quality.
For the sound, the price is not a problem.

This drumhead is great....... I have not had any problems with the foam falling apart or anything of that sort, this made my kit sound so much better at a reasonable price.... I love this drumhead! GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
after owning it for about a month, the softer foam that goes in the port hole has torn and is useless. In live performances, it won't matter much but it looks sloppy as it flaps around. I don't even use the foam now as it still sounds great. I just feel like I wasted some hard earned cash on a product that doesn't last in its entirety.
Comments about Evans EMAD Resonant Bass Drumhead:
Put this head on my 24" vistalite and after about 4 months now, I have nothing but great things to say about it. Have personally had no problems with the foam, and have just purchased a 22" for my Yamahas. I LOVE THIS HEAD.
