They stick fine to the kick head (when following directions) and they last a long time (when you know how to play). Good techniques is part of being a musician. Playing/kicking harder isn't going to make it sound better. It's only going to cost you more $$$. To all the people interested in a drum patch, this one is perfect. I have used others and to me this one is best.

Not sure how drummers are breaking this thing in a few weeks, or what was different in my patch than other reviews, but my black patch was a good quality woven nylon looking thing, not the plastic as it is described here. maybe the clear patches are just the plastic ones *shrug* My patch has protected my head for months now and I'm a heavy metal hitter. What makes this patch a terrible buy is the adhesive, my beaters get pretty warm by the end of my sets, and the patches over time just fall off. Then of course the head is ruined because the adhesive is still stuck to the head, not the patch, and affixing another patch is a waste of time because it too will fall and much sooner than the last one.

These are GREAT! I have had them on my Evans Hydrolic head for over 3 YEARS and not ONE dimple (and I am a HARD & HEAVY kicker). Won't mess with the sound or feel of the head and absolutely prolongs the life of it. If you don't have one....GET ONE!!!!!!!! (actually, you're getting two. lol)

I bought this to apply to an expensive mesh head, but it only stuck for about 30 seconds then flew off. I was told it would work on mesh heads but to no avail. I think it would be fine on a standard acoustic mylar/plastic head, but don't get this if you plan to apply it to a mesh head.

great for the price and definitely saved my electronic bass drum. the rubber was starting to mess up from playing so much and this totally solves that.
sticks great with no problems even on my electronic drums it sticks great.
definitely made out of a tough material.
comes with two durable double bass patches just in case. they probably won't wear out any time soon.

This is a great patch, not sure why people don't seem to like it. Maybe they forgot to read the directions and put some rubbing alcohol on the bass drum head before putting it on. All in all, this thing sticks.

i got this about 7 mounths ago.its duribility good,muffled the bass a bit.and i got the 2 pack so if i do need another im set.so you might want to buy it.

I've almost 4 years with the same patch on my bass drum, I switched to wood beaters, I don't hit too hard, but after a year hitting almost every day with wood batters, there is no sign of harm, besides that GAVIN HARRISON uses it! (but please don't tell the remo guys..)Just buy it!
