EQ Pad is awesome!

Features:

Got 2 of them. One on batter, and one on resonant side. My bass drum sound has improved 100%. I seed a DW pillow, and got ris of it because it made my kick sound EXTREMELY dead.

Quality:

Outstanding quality doesn't kill the kick drums tone.

Value:

A bit pricey but worth it.

Overall:

I use an EMAD clear batter with a EQ3 black resonant front. The evens EQ pads on each side of my kick, add so much life to my bass drum sound. Way to go Evans, consider me a die hard customer forever!

These will get the job done cuz my drum teacher has one in his extremely nice set. But i have found a way if you have a cheap set like mine that if you take one long pillow and one short pillow (these are just sleaping pillows) you can put the long one on bottom and fold it over to wear the side is on your batter head and the other tip/edge would be on your resonant...then lay the short pillow on top in the same manner so that you will have the tips of both pillows resting on the resonant with the resonant really lose and the batter really tight and it gives off this amazing thumpy yet loud tone that is just unbelievable for rock and classic rock sounds

I bought this after being personally suggested to by Matt Greiner. I must say I'm not at all dissapointed. With a small blanket, my bass drum sounded so good. A thud with some pop in it. Easy to install and very cheap. I would strongly suggest it. I must say that other comments made me feel uneasy but afer getting it I can personally say that they are amazing.

Product does the job nicely!

Product does exactly what it is designed to do.  I use it lightly touching the resonant head.  It absorbs the right amount of "boom" from the drum without totally removing the resonance.  I combined this with an Evans EMAD batter head and I cannot believe the improvement in the sound of my kick. If I have any criticism of this item at all it would be with the price.  I find it slightly over-priced, but that would not keep me from buying it again.  A solid addition to your kit in my book.  Highly recommended!

This thing is great. I use this with an EQ3 (22") and a Retro screen, and it's the best bass sound I've ever had. It has a lot of attack, it's powerful, and the muffler allows it to boom a little, but not so much where double bass work will be muddy sounding. It's nice to be done with blankets and pillows in my bass drum. With this, you can load and unload and never have to re adjust all of your muffling. It makes you look more professional, it's cheap, and it makes you sound better. The Resonant Gate System is also nice because it muffles the front head a little, even better for double bass playing.
