Comments about Evans G Plus Clear Drumhead:

I have always used other brand resonant heads. The babies really bring out the tone of your toms without crimping the overall projection. I would recommend everyone to give these a try.

Comments about Evans G Plus Clear Drumhead:

Need more "good" volume and less "boing or buzz" out of your toms? Try these as a BOTTOM head. They are just a little thicker, but they don't choke the drum like a 2 ply would, they just take out some of the boingy/buzzy unwanted overtones.
These brought my toms to life. More "GOOD" volume, and the tuning seems less "finicky". Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Drum heads that will caress your ears and speak to your drumming soul

Comments about Evans G Plus Clear Drumhead:

Well, I am 'all over' these, every day when I play and practice and dream big rock star dreams in my small, country-side converted-garage music room. Before discovering these Evans G Plus heads, I always played what came on a series of used drum kits I'd owned before, the plain old white coated heads from that 'other' drum head maker. I knew deep down inside that drum heads could sound this good (and should), but I never imagined I would play a kit that does (and now always will) sound this good. My first purchase was the 10-inch G Plus clear for an add-on Ludwig tom that came with a stock head - before I even installed the head, I couldn't stop smacking on it and drum-rolling my fingers on it and bouncing it off my palm and knee caps... the freakin' thing sounded amazing before it even touched the rims! The weight was a bit heavier than any other head I've used before, and so was the thickness... That's a benefit of these heads that Evans promotes: their durability and ability to take a pounding from heavy hitters. I'm not a heavy hitter. I'm a drummer on a budget who didn't want to have a peeling drum head or dented drum head in 6 months time, so I made the switch and bought one of these to start with. After installing and tuning up (both with my own ears and using a Drum Dial tuner, which I highly recommend also), I was instantly reminded of a quote by drum great Bernard Purdie - "It's about the melody of the thing." This was the first time in over 20 years of drumming that my drums sounded melodious! Sure, it's a rhythmic instrument, but drums are still just that - instruments. Drums have notes and can be pitched high or low and out of tune and in-tune, their tones and sounds can be graceful and quiet or loud and ferocious. The Evans G Plus heads brought more than just 'new life' to my toms - they made them sing and whimper and cry and roar and rock, for the first time in my drumming life. It took me several weeks to be able to have the money to get one at a time, but I'm glad I spent the time and invested the money or so for all new Evans heads. Be patient with these - tune them just so (and spend some time doing it) and you'll be rewarded with drums that feel alive and have personality and sound far more musical than the thuddering, antiquated heads you're used to playing with.
Believe it when they say they're thicker and more durable for heavy hitters! I'm not a heavy hitter by any means - I bought these to last AND to sound great, and I got my money's worth on both counts. Keep reading for my full review, which I hope is as helpful as the reviews I read here on every product before I buy, just like you are now
I would rate these a 100 if I could go higher than 10 - there's nothing flemsy, cheap or worrisome about the feel and construction of these heads. My only gripe (and it's extremely minor at that) is that I wish Evans wouldn't put a bar code sticker at the top center of the outer edge of their bass heads. I didn't notice until I'd spent hours tuning my bass drum, that I had a white sticker with bar code and inventory info showing in the one spot where I can clearly see it (and as an OCD musician, that's driving me nuts)
Ranging in price for a small tom head to a bass head, new Evans G Plus heads took my 35 year old vintage Ludwig kit from a kit that looked and sounded like a low priced set of drums to a set that was so rich and melodic, soulful and warm, I wouldn't trade these drums for an expensive set, never never never! The Evans prices for the quality and sound you get can't be beat - My full unabashed review is below...

              Great Head.......

              By Big Mac Music

Comments about Evans G Plus Clear Drumhead:

I have used G1 clear for many years , even though they are a little hard to keep tuned. Now comes the G plus and I have found the head that still feels similar with a little more punch and durability. I couldn't be more satisfied. Tunes up loose or tight, you make the call. You won't go back to your old heads.

              A new favourite Skin!!!!

Comments about Evans G Plus Clear Drumhead:

i was a little iffy on this skin wen i first saw it cause it was kinda cheap but man was i amazed at what this skin can handle i am a hard hitter and this is just what this skin is made for hard hitting, so i put em on, tuned em up and layed into them and i was amazed. The skin had a warm feel and stays in tune perfectly even when your wackin them as hard as you can. i was highly impressed by this. So if your a drummer who hits hard, and plays hard then i highly recommend this item worth every penny.
