Awhile back i made some money, so i went to my local music shop and purchased the 12" 13" 14" 16" G2 heads.
I will say after replacing these heads the first thing i noticed was the sound! the sound is so deep and crisp! Evans made my Toms sing and my floor toms growl just like they said it would.
My "Pearl Maxwins" have had the same "Remo" heads on for 35 years, they sound way better than they have ever sounded, And the white coat on the heads LOOK AMAZING!
So happy with my purchase and i will purchase these again if these ever break!
Thank you EVANS! you have done it again!
-Also these heads are the easiest heads to tune!

I have g2 coateds on my toms and I've played on other sets with g2 clears. Once you get these tuned to where they don't sound bad they are OK heads. Much better coating and durability than any REMO I've seen. They sound great from the audience and recorded but they have a bad feel to them. Not much bounce on these things. They have a weird muffled attack, but that's their intention. I guess if you want a muffled head that really only sounds good played loud, then buy g2s. I just can't recommend these for jazz. I bet they sound better on bigger drums and certainly would make cheap kits sound better as they would eliminate the overtones. I recommend these over Pinstripes.

Comments about Evans G2 Coated Batter Drumhead:
These heads are great on toms, but my favorite on snares. They sound great, hold up well and hold the tuning, and dry up some of the overtones you get from a single ply on a snare. It's also very sensitive. I highly recommend.

Comments about Evans G2 Coated Batter Drumhead:
I have been a lifelong fan of Remo drumheads. Recently I needed to replace the my beaten up drumheads and was looking for that perfect "studio" rock drum sound. I wasn't happy with the way my drums were sounding ( a little too "jazzy" for my taste). I tried these out after reading great reviews here and I'm hooked! My drums sound amaaazzziiiinggg! Way better than I have ever expected. I am now an avid fan of Evans heads and will be using them on all my drumsets! These heads will make your drums sound great!
Comments about Evans G2 Coated Batter Drumhead:
These are the easiest drum heads to tune,i had the clear g2's but they didn't sound as good as these, these also give your kit a amazing look!...
Comments about Evans G2 Coated Batter Drumhead:
i've been using the g2 coated on my 14" snare and 12" and 16" inch toms for at least a year and they still sound sweet. i'll never ever use a different drumhead. they are so warm, and they have the most epic punch, without all the annoying-ness that other drumheads have. they make your drums just roar. oh and my drums are basically no better than like sound percussion drums. but with the g2 coated, no one would ever be able to tell that i bought my drum set for 75 dollars.you also need to pay attention to the resonant heads. they account for a lot of your sound. i have a hazy 300 on the bottom of my snare with puresound custom snares, and g1 clears on the bottom of the toms. i like the toms tuned really low, so they give off a nice warm low punchy sound with short decay. i get a nice sound from the snare by cranking the resonant head waaaay up, and tuning the batter head fairly loose. and on my kick drum i have an EMAD2 clear batter and an eq3 resonant, both tuned pretty tight. if you've got your drums set up with these heads, and good muffling (a couple moongels on each drum), they'll sound awesome. get evans g2 coated!!

I bought a 12" inch to replace my crappy Aquarian I had and it sounds really nice! Just make sure you really know how to tune your drums and these heads will work out for you just fine. ;)

Comments about Evans G2 Coated Batter Drumhead:
These are by far the best heads I have played. If you have drums that can sound good, not a low end pearl like many of the people giving bad reviews have, these will make it sound all the better. Remember, if you can't tune drums, it doesn't matter what heads you have on it, it won't sound good. For me where these heads beat all the competition, no pun intended, is the attack and decay. These heads do not have a real sticky attack, they are defined but its still very rounded and smooth. The decay or resonance is great too. The drums are still there, they are still resonating, but they are not drawn out or cut off. It is a very natural sounding head. I wouldn't mind if they had a little bit slower decay or longer resonance but I absolutely love these heads all around. If you are into that metal trash where toms have no resonance and are really tight and clickey then go with something else. If you don't know how to tune drums, experiment and learn how to tune drums to start, then play around with different heads, the drum dial does not tune drums for you.
