I tried the EC-2 on a late 60s Rogers kit and they were OK. I didn't really like them till they were really worn. The moment I switched to the G2
coated the differance was obvious. I tried something most drummers would think is crazy. I put the G2s on the top and bottom. For all you who
are having trouble getting that really thick sound
out of your 16" this is the answer. The old Rogers
kit sounds as good asanything out there. Even DW.

The quality of the heads are great with the exception of the collar. They seem to be a hit and miss situation whether you need a hammer to get them in the rim or they fall in like they should. When they fit they sound great, stay in tune, and are very durable. However they are not worth a shiny penny if they don't fit properly. My drums are true to size and perfectly round that is not the issue. All other manufactures heads i have tried fit great everytime. This has only started occuring in the last few years and primarily withy 12" and 16" sizes. My money will be spent on another brand until i am convinced they have fixed there issues.
Features that cant be used are really not features are they?
The defintion of quality: The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something:Using the definition of quality i would the Evans G2 series heads don't meet it at least for the past few years and what i have been buying.

These heads are very good quality heads. The coating is more durable than other companies heads. As far as tuning them, they are no better than remo heads. It is the person tuning determins haow quick or easily they tune up. A great value for the money.

Replaced the original heads on my Pearl Maple Vision. What a world of difference! Never really liked the tone of small tom, now it just sings! Floor tom sound is amazing. Easy to tune, you cannot go wrong with these heads.

These heads brought my 1980's Pearl kit to life. I was having a lot of trouble getting a good drum sound on my recordings - lacking depth and tone. The drum tracks took a lot of EQing to sound reasonably good. I put the G2's on batter heads and G1's as resonants. I can honestly say that I now require little or no EQ to get the sound I want.

These heads are a great upgrade for any set. They brought the life back to my old Pearl kit and sound excellent when recording (Replaced Remos).

Evans builds great heads and these are no acception. The value pack is the way to go and the coated heads seem to work on anything. I have them on a Maple and Birch kit for a great all around sound.
