this is a great head, provides a great dark tone with little sustain. I have it paired with an evans Black resonance head, which just makes it sound EVEN better and it shortens sustain drastically. I highly recommend these heads.

Great head, shortens sustain, provides an excellent tone. I have this paired with Remo Ebony Pinstripe heads and the combo sounds AMAZING!!!! Highly reccommend these heads as they make any level of toms sound excellent

Replaced all the heads with the onyx batters and these on the bottoms. Gave my toms much more depth, and volume with less overtone than the factory heads on my gretsch set. They almost take on a studio sound on my set, and look incredibly KEWL. Have gotten mega comments on the sound and looks. Only thing is make sure you watch the tuning for a solid 2-3 weeks, have noticed they stretch out more than some other heads I have used. Also do not recommend if you want a brighter sound, these will deffinently give you a hard rock thump sound. I also put them on my second snare, a 14x6 that I was using as a high tuned tom, have since turned it back into a snare/tom cnfiguration to roll out to from my 8" tom which is tuned lower. The sound from the 6" with these heads is real snappy with a ring that blends to the toms. I say if you got a few bucks to throw try it out, way cool effect!!

I just bought the 12 inch and was looking around for a drumhead that would help my toms project more when playing live, and these are the perfect heads. When they are tuned right they sound absolutely amazing!!
