One Of the Best Snare Heads On the Market

By Jim kowalczyk

from Chicago

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

This is a fantastic head and definatley worth the price. The sound is very warm and bright. I have my snare head tuned Really tight which gives it a nice marching snare sound to it and i like how it sounds with the rest of my kit. Btw if your using a drumdial theres no way in hell that your gonna get this head up to 90. I have mine at seventy and that is extremely tight for a thick head like this

Great Sound

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

Just picked this up and tuned it up to my mapex saturn pro 14" snare. Like others have said, medium tight (meaning tight but not choking or not too high pitched), this head sings beautifully. Unlike single ply heads, you dont have to crank this one up so much. Also, if you are having trouble getting a good soung again, I recommend tuning the snare side (resonant side) head low. Atleast on my type of snare, this gives it a way less marching snare sound and way more rock/modern sound. I don't like hearing alot of snare action and apparently the looser the bottom head is, the better it works out.I play experi-metal and this really allows me to slam it.

Best snare head I've ever used

By Anonymous

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

I've been using this head for about 5 years now. I use it playing contemporary praise and worship on a Truth 6.5x14 chamber snare. I constantly get compliments on my snare sound. The tone is incredible. I'm about to replace this head with a new one just because it's been on so long, but the crazy thing is that even after playing it for such a long time, it still sounds incredible and it still looks strong and solid in the middle of the head. I used to play Remo heads, but after using evans heads, I'm sold on them. The durability of this head has been awesome. The muffle ring inside allows you to play it wide open but not have any unwanted ring or overtones. Good stuff. I would definitely recommend this snare batter.

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

I just got this head about a month ago, and just 2 weeks ago its already started to dent so much, it has a great sound just if it didn't dent too much would be better.

Breath new life into your snare

By PirroPlato

from Texas

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

I've been super impressed with the sound from this head. On my 6.5" snare, it has extraordinary bite in the center and the rimshots are other-worldly. Easily projects over other sounds when playing live and is still very good for brushes and studio playing. The overtone control ring on the inside does a great job of muffling the unwanted ringing without making the drum sound choked.

i love this snare head!

Comments about Evans SD14 Genera HD Coated White Snare Head:

this has to be one of my favorite snare heads ever by evans. If you tune it medium tight it has such a great tone. it cracks so well, but still has a warm sound that will make you want to play the snare more. I love this head, and will never go back to Remo snare heads after using this.
