If you are even thinking about buying these, do it. I had those crappy SP pedals before i upgraded. When i got these i emediatly went to my band practice and started playing them. I have never been able to get to those kinds of speeds with the other pedals. I was originally going to buy the Direct drive Gibraltar pedals but i decided to just hope for the best with these. I AM GLAD I CHOSE THESE! These things are extremely durable and are built to last. every silngle part on these pedals are made of metal. Point is, i strongly reccomend these!

I purchased this as a back-up practice pedal for home use and it didn't even deliver to the lowest of expectations. I had to return this item because the machined parts would not fit together correctly. I was looking for a cheap alternative double bass pedal to use just at home as a back-up. My advice would be to spend a little extra money and get something that is not so cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend this to even a novice player. I ended up spedning a little more money and buying the Tama Iron Cobra 200's, which are quality-made pedals and work, and feel great.

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

This pedal is great for the price, the only thing i don't like about it is the spring assembly. I upgraded from the DW 4000 double pedal which broke on me, and the spring assembly is completely different than the 4000, so it took some getting used to. But all in all, it's a really good, sturdy pedal. Also, it would have been great if it would have come with a carrying case, but hey, it was cheap...

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

ive had this pedal for about a year now, and at first i was a bit sceptical, i had never used a double pedal before and didnt know what to look for, at first i hated it but then after fine tuneing and some width adjustments and getting the springs to the perfect tension, i can now say i am comepletely happy with them, they are also very sturdy and dont slide at all, the slave does squeek a bit but you cant hear it if youre jammin , overal its a great pedal.

Product comes assembled... the (very) little assembly required is instinctive and simple. It is very easy to adjust. This pedal is rock solid; it does not need to be secured to a drum. I set it on the floor and used the packing box as a pad. The pedal did not slip or rattle one bit. It has several contact points that adhere to the floor. Pretty impressive unit.

                    Meh

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I got this in place of my old PDP402 pedal (DONT buy that one please). The main pedal is fantastic, the biggest problems are in the slave pedal. Extremely sloppy and noticeably hard to adjust. It might be the cross arm but Im not sure. Even with constant oiling it still squeaks. The beaters are good. The plastic side gives a nice slap. Only problem is the beater arms are too small for the hole so the come loose all the time unless you tighten it with some industrial screwdriver attached to some kind of vehicle. The amount of adjusting is good. Nothing special. Oh and DONT play this pedal barefoot. Actually you can itll just hurt the first few days. I have a callus the size of california on the inside of my big toe. All in all a solid pedal, the biggest problem is the sloppyness of the slave.

I have had these Pedals for a year now and they are solid! I love them! They are very smooth, and this drummer I know said he would prefer these over his $500 Iron Cobras. I would recommend these to any drummer!

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I've been using these pedals for a few months now and i love them. They're well constructed and, with a little finessing, can kick just as smooth as higher end pedals. I personally play really hard and often and have had no issues with durability. If your comparing these to the basic 100 - 150 dollar pedals its definitely worth the little extra. In comparison to the Cobra Jr's or the P902's it's more a matter of preference in which case i choose the Avengers. Hope this helped !

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

As is the case with nearly all of Gibraltar's hardware, the Avenger is top quality. As long as you're sure you've purchased the "Avenger II" (with both stabilizer plates, 2-sided beaters, etc), you've bought a pedal comparable to the DW9000 series for less than half the price. The pedal is highly adjustable and a great transition from beginning playing to advanced and even professional. Seriously consider this one!
