Screwed right onto the threads of my cymbal stand and stays in position very well. I have a 24" Giant Beat Ride on the bottom and an 18" Novo China on the top...so, thats some decent weight on there to test with. I recorded all weekend with it and it didn't move once. Very stable. You can pretty much get any position you want, the adjustments are very flexible. Takes a bit of time to put on and take off but it's definitely worth that minor hassle.

This cymbal stacker does exactly what I need it to do. I have limited floor space, plus always liked how Neil Peart and Ginger Baker had a crash cymbal stacked above their ride cymbal. This stacker is sturdy enough and long enough to hold an 18" medium crash above a 20" medium ride without hitting the crash while on the ride. I also purchased a cymbal arm and bracket that mounts perfectly to my mounted tom holder for a 16" crash, also taking up no more floor space.

I've now mounted this Stacker Assembly on three different makes of stands, and it fit all three without a hitch. Very solid for the small splashes I've used it with, a 15" China and, for a while, carrying a 19" China above and slightly behind a 22" China. The latter was on a heavy duty straight stand and it worked very well. The only feature I'd like to see added is a change to the "brake" or friction tilt mechanism. Despite the combination of three geared pivots on this Stacker, I still had a bit of trouble getting my splash cymbals to ride at the precise forward tilt that I wanted. Since I can buy a boom stand for not much more than this stacker, it seems that it could carry a friction brake tilter.

This product screws down on top of your cymbal stand onto its existing threads and then you tighten the clamp with your drum key and it clamps below the threads to ensure it doesnt move on you, and doesn't destroy anything as long as you have normal sized hardware. Its the exact same bottom piece that gibraltar uses in their straight stacker with the single pivot. Theres a lot of flexibilty in the position of your cymbals with this stand compared to the straight stacker where you are extremely limited on the angles you can achieve, and it is very solid if you're smart about how you set it up. If I had unlimited space I would spend the money to get another cymbal stand, but if you're like me and have NO room for any other stand, this is what you need.

This accessory uses a lug to attach to an existing stand, and requires that it is clamped down. However, clamping it down crushes the threads, stripping the cymbal stand and ruining it for any other use. I highly reccomend looking for alternitives by Pearl, Yamaha, or DW.

I own this stacker and i give everyone who's curious a fair warning that if you do not have a good quality DOUBLE BRACED cymbal stand do not buy this stacker. It will wobble like JLo's butcheeks if you have a crappy stand (i.e. Stock or cheap stands) but, overall it is good for the purpose and does its job well. Offers many different positions as well!:P
