Comments about Gibraltar Drum Tuning Dots:

I bought these along with some Evans EC2 SST tom heads and I wanted to get rid of my O rings all together. They help, but don't get the job done. They add more attack to the heads but I still have to use my O rings. If you have O rings and still have a little too much overtone, id buy them, but don't buy them if you want to get rid of your O rings.

Comments about Gibraltar Drum Tuning Dots:

I've never been a big fan of "excessive" ringing on any of my drums...who is. But I've learned with experience and maturity that it's better to control overtones, rather than eliminate them. Once you are really jamming those tones get lost in the mix but they help to carry the drums through. I mean if you want your drums to sound like cardboard boxes with duct tape and paper towels all over the place, go right ahead. But if you want to help bring out the best in your drums, try these out. They do their job, and the price isn't bad for a pack of them. I really only use a couple on the floor tom, and maybe 1 on the snare from time to time. The only cons I can think of are that 1) They are smaller than I imagined...under two inches long. 2) The dampening is very subtle. And 3) The "light" adheasive isn't so light, they stick pretty darn good and if you're not careful you will rip them apart and stick to the heads, but hey you put them on for a reason so why take them off. So I guess they aren't very reusable, but all in all another fine product from Gibralter. Try them out.
