Comments about Gibraltar Dunnett Roto Style Throw Off:

This is a heavy-duty, well cast and machined, well chromed part. A particularly nice feature is the adjustable screw spacing which means you don't need to drill new holes for this strainer (though you may have to enlarge the existing ones).

There are several problems inherent to the design and engineering. The biggest is that there is very limited throw travel. I had hoped that I'd be able to set this up with the various settings thus 1) off, 2) wet, 3) "normal", 4) dry. But setting the last setting so the snares were dry failed to allow for the complete disengagement of the snares in the off positions. When adjusted enough so that the snares disengaged the setting were more like 1) off, 2) something is terribly wrong, 3) that doesn't sound good, 4) extremely wet and buzzy Or you can live with never being able to completely disengage the snares. This *may* be able to be remedied by a longer spring, but that's the kind of engineering issue Gibraltar needs to work out,

The other problems included sloppy fit of parts, and the fact that when tightening the tension knob that action alone throws the snare into the "off" position, loosening the knob throws it in the "on" position. Two stars for cool concept (even if the engineering is flawed), and for nice precision looks.
