        Great Space Saver

Comments about Gibraltar No-Leg Hi-Hat Stand with Direct Pull:

I bought this & set it up for my son who has been playing a year. I attached it with some creative effort to the Gibraltar curved starter pack which includes two side bars. You can attach the hihat stand to the rack very securely via one of these bars. I find it more sturdy than the freestanding models I've tried; and it is sitting on thick carpet. Key is to make sure the entire rack is on a flat and level floor before you tighten all the clamps. It saves lots of floor space and the entire rack can be picked up as one piece. The adjustments for the hi hat cymbals are pretty nice, and can adjust low for my young son or pretty high for 6'1" like me. Knobs are easy to tweak. I think the value is good, maybe a couple dollars high. But it's solidly built.

        Darn Nice Stand

        By Springless Chicken

Comments about Gibraltar No-Leg Hi-Hat Stand with Direct Pull:

I don't know of any no-leg hi hat stand that is designed to stand alone without a brace. This one is no different. Although I do wish Gibraltar would include the hardware, I don't know of anyone else who does. So goes the industry. The stand itself is one of the best in the business. The innards are the same as other high hat stands and it looks like the only difference in design between this and other 9000 series stands is that it does not have legs. For a double bass set up or if your stand layout has you cramped for leg room, this would be an ideal stand. I have Gibraltar 9000 hi hats and with basic care they last for years, are reliable and don't require a lot of maintenance. The one factor that must be considered with Gibraltar 9000 hardware is the weight. There is nothing mamsy-pamsy about this line and unless you are prepared for plenty of hardware weight you are going to do some serious sweating moving or shipping this gear around. Quality wise I don't think there is anything in the price range that gets close

        Neat but Flawed

        By Pearljammer45

Comments about Gibraltar No-Leg Hi-Hat Stand with Direct Pull:

I tried this out at the local music store and was underwhelmed by what I experienced. Although it is solid and seems like it's been constructed very well, it is about two legs short of being usable. Some extreme action on this stand nearly tipped it over in the store, but I managed to catch it before it fell. To it's credit it was on a carpeted surface, but I get the feeling that even a level surface wouldn't be entirely stable. Unless you absolutely need the space, get the two legged version.
