What an excellent way for the gigging drummer to lose most to all if his/her stands!

This rack system greatly reduced the footprint of my kit.

Soon I'll be able to enjoy the ease of a rack system the next time we go out!

There is truely unlimited possibilities and configurations with this system that make sthe time spent setting it up, well worth it.

I've had this rack for a couple years now, and it's really the perfect rack for anyone who could need it. All the clamps hold solid, with or without memory locks (but if you have them, there is NO chance of movement). I have about 10 cymbals mounted across mine, and when I get my new kit I'll have the toms up there too. On a solid flat surface with the legs tightened, it won't shake the slightest bit, but if you play on a drum rug on top of a carpet, and you're a heavy hitter as I am, you may find that it sways a tad from the soft ground, but that's to be expected. I have my three heaviest cymbals mounted on one of the tiny little side wings, and it still holds up perfectly. All in all, it's a perfect rack for anyone who needs expansion and an easier way to hold their kit together.

I bought the Gibraltar Rack Starter Pack with the wings out of sheer necessity for an efficient way to set up and tear down without setting up 5+ stands. Not only does this rack support the weight of my 5 cymbals and rack toms, but it does so without rocking or shifting. This thing also has a great stage presence during a show. The only questionable quality concern that I have had about this equipment is that the metal where the clamps were bound tight has indented a little bit. Otherwise, this rack is a cheap, must-have for the gigging drummer, and it has the potential for you to expand upon it without spending a fortune to get the foundation. Great product, great investment, hands down.

Ok there are alot of advantages and a few disadvantages to this rack.  Advantages:  The hardware is well made; It can hold a lot of weight and I can't imagine any way of the hardware ever breaking.  It is easy to transport, and having memory locks gives you the ability to have your drum set up be EXACTLY like it was every time you reassemble the rack.  Disadvantages: it is wobbly, but this can be fixed if you add another leg using the bottom part of a regular cymbal stand and connect it to the rack.  Another thing is that the main frame of the rack becomes dented when you attach more hardware to it.  Overall, these are minor disadvantages, and for this price, this is a great rack.

As I stated in my earlier review and as others have stated, the wing arms will start sagging with some weight on them(16x14 rack tom, 14" china and an 18" crash) so I picked up a 20" straight tube and a clamp. Now it holds the weight and is plenty stable. You will always have some movement when beating on drums, as long as you stabalize correctly you'll be fine. Added another clamp for the hihat side; this is one stable rack with a decent footprint. Well worth the money. That's it! Rock on !!
