I use this to hold an extra splash directly above my high hat. It works well, only problem is it gives a little ring after i close the hats, but I could always tighten it to stop that. As a high hat design it is great!

My review is 3.5/5 stars.
This clutch was bought as a replacement for the default one on my Mapex hat stand, which had just become stripped. I bought it a few weeks ago because I need a cheap replacement. Someone online said that it was only that; a cheap replacement, but it's still running strong, so I'm pretty satisfied.

The shaft is threaded ALL THE WAY down, so tension needs to be limited to "snug" in order to prevent eventually "Keyholing" the Top Cymbal
The clutch comes with 2 small Felts. The Bottom Nut is formed in a way that it will go flush to the bottom of the shaft, then the tension is set by the Top Nuts. Tightening the Top Nuts against each other keeps them locked. The shaft is threaded the entire length, so "keyholing" is possible if the Cymbals are allowed to swing too loosely.
The Clutch holds my stand securely.
This is not very expensive, but it is more or less, an BASIC Clutch assembly.

I purchased the Gibraltar clutch to replace my tama clutch about a year ago. My tama clutch finally gave way after several years of use. Unfortunately, it is not nearly as durable as that tama clutch. It wing nut constantly slips. To be honest, this product is a serious waste of money.

I had purchased this product several months ago and i have to say i don't like it. The clutch slips and doesn't do the job right. It was a cheap product but the quality wasn't that good. Which disappoints me because gilbraltar usually has good products. i suggest you don't buy this product.

i bought this clutch at a local music shop and i waited FOREVER to get it. once i got it i was so excited but it was a big disappointment. the clutch cannot tighten right. Yet i've gotten it to work for me after a while. But it not really something i want to recomend

I own three of them, have not had any problems with them. I use one of them to hold my 8in splash on the top of my hi hat stand, they hold great even with hard hitting, the felt is tight and strong also. You will like it...

I bought a Beginer Pacific set. the set needed some exchanging of parts because after playing a month they became crap. of tthsoe things was the hi hat clutch. first it never tighted down good so sometimes it came loose and when i pushed down my hi hat it sometimes moved it higher up. plus the screw for the cymbol always spun unloose. so i picked this clutch up. this clutch works miracles. the cymbol crews never come loose they alwasy stay in possition and when i push down my hi hat it never moves out of possition. i would defently recomend this clutch to any one whos on a budget and cant buy a new hi hat stand. great for its price.
