Comments about Gibraltar SC-4980J Hi-Hat Cymbal Seat:
I have a Pearl H72W hihat stand. This seat appears to be the same size as the original Pearl seat on the stand, but the inside diamater is bigger. It just sits on the hihat stand tube and is loose. It works anyway even though it is loose, but it could rattle in a recording situation.
Comments about Gibraltar SC-4980J Hi-Hat Cymbal Seat:
According to Gibraltar's website, this can be used with either 5/8" or 7/8" diameter pipes. It will NOT work on a thinner, 5/8" pipe. I was able to get it to work on my thinner (vintage) pipe by wrapping the top of the pipe in some duct tape (just enough so that this seat would cover it fully), than pounding the seat on with a rubber mallet. It works fine and holds securley, and you can't tell the duct tape is underneath it, but just a heads up if you plan on using this on a smaller or vintage pipe diameter.
