I've been using these style mounts since they came out in the late 70's early 80's. They do let the drum "speak" better and resonate longer. I've come across various versions of manufacture over the years, but the one(s) listed above worked perfectly, and the pre drilled holes on the mount plate aligned perfectly with the mount I was using. Some simple instruction sheet should be included (mine did not), they do add a little bit of weight (well worth it IMHO), and one should be aware that using these mounts increases the diameter of the drum somewhat and that size increase may require slightly bigger cases or carry bags (just FYI). I like this stlye of suspension/iso mount better than just about anything any of the other manufacturers have come up with so far.

No assembly instruction but just follow the picture online and its pretty easy to put together...have one mounted on a 11x13 pearl tom (6 lugs) and its holding up great on a normal sized cymbal stand, just remember that you will need this to finish the mount: a Gibraltar Super Tom Mount with Memory Lock, found on musicians friend here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums-percussion/gibraltar-super-tom-mount-with-memory-lock, or at least, that's what i used to complete the setup, other than that you would need a clamp, i used a gibraltar l-rod clamp which you can also find here at musicians friend, to attach the mount to a cymbal stand, then you're set, no problems, feels sturdy and well made, great product and highly recommended!

I got my mount about a week ago. It's different from the one shown. 2 of the holes didn't line up for me and it comes with no instructions. Not a big deal since I have a small machine shop in my garage but might be a problem for others. However with all that said it does let your toms sing. It gave new life to my toms. Very happy with the mount overall. I recommend it.

i had the tama star-cast mounting on my drums and i thought they sounded good my kit has 8,10,12 rack toms then i bought the gibralter mounts since the starcast is so bulky my kit now sound 1.5 million times better they sound like the finished product after EQ,Compression, and mixing so i cant wait to hear them after all that now buy these they are inexpensive, well made, and will take any kit to the next level

When I first got my tama swingstar drums I noticed they didn't have the starcast system on them I was so disapointed will a few years later I noticed these and picked 2 up. They install fast if you don't have any issues getting your mounting bracket onto them. I had to make a quick trip to lowes to get some spacers. But that was 20 cents. Amazing product and really lets your toms sing! If your using a snare stand or basket stand for your rack toms order these and you will hear what you have been missing!

These are great. If you are looking for a mounting system, this is it. The are cheap and very durable. The universal mounting plate makes it so you can use your drums old mounts. These are great. I have one for my 10 inch, and I plan on buying them for my other drums. Drums that are 16 and above are too heavy for these... other than that, they are a GREAT buy.

This simple device added to your toms can change your sound completely. Even poor quality drums are greatly improved when suspended by their rims. Buy enough for all of your suspended drums.
