Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I needed to replace the original Tama wingnuts that came with the stands I own. Others here have complained about stripping and it made me hesitate about making the purchase, but I thought the low price was worth the gamble so I got a few. No stripping yet despite removing one in particular quite often.
I believe these may come in two different sizes (Gibraltar is flexible like that), so make sure you have the right size for your stand in question.

Perfect replacement for my old 6mm Tamma cymbal stand nuts.

Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I like the old style tamma wing nuts and these are a perfect replacement for them. The material is a little softer than the original stuff, but I am sure it will work fine.
    Does what it needs to.
Will probably last as long as the originals.
    cheap enough.

    Love Them!

    By Bryce Job

Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I've used the same ones for around 2 years now. I've played everything from heavy metal to jazz. Yeah they take a while to turn on your stand but after the thread is pretty well engraved with your stand threads its pretty smooth sailing from there. I've never had a breaking issue or any problems with these. I'll always use these!

    Not a good idea

Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I replaced my old wing nuts with these and they only lasted 1 hour of playing before stripping out and popping off when hitting a cymbal. They may be okay for people who play more softer music, but for metal players not a good idea.

Not a good replacement for original

    By DrummerManSteve

    from California

Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I purchased as a replacement for existing Tama hardware but these wing nuts do not grab the thread well and have stripped-out after a few set ups. Tama uses 6mm posts but these seem slightly larger. I like the all-in-one design but I need to find another product. Good thing they were inexpensive.

    There are other choices

    By PearlDrummer27

Comments about Gibraltar Tama-Style Wing Nut Sleeve 6mm SC-TCWN:

I rated the Gibraltar tama style wing nut sleeve poorly because of the design, not the quality. These actually seem to be made of a bit sturdier material than other sleeves. The problem is with the design. This thing replaces the wing nut that comes with your cymbal stand and screws all the way down the length of the threads thus preventing metal to metal contact. Great, but because it goes on this way, it takes forever to put on and remove. It can take you a full minute to remove and replace because of all the screwing and unscrewing. And you have to remove it to get your cymbals off of the stand. This makes for extra fun setting up and tearing down at clubs, when your'e wanting to it quickly. This thing won't work at all if you have especially long threads on your stand. You'll have to get extra felts to go under the cymbal so that it sits high enough to be protected by the sleeve. I personally like the ones that are flanged at the bottom. You just drpo those on and forget about it until its time to change them.
