This stuff is great for drum sticks and I'm suprised to see mainly reviews from guitarists here.
The Snot helps you grip your sticks comfortably and without strain when you're warming up. This reduces fatigue not only early on, but throughout your entire practice time or set.
The main caveat I can offer is a little goes a very long way. Putting on too much will actually make it harder to play (think sticks glued to your hand with no finger mobility), so be conservative with it until you find the amount that works best.
Finally, this is really nothing more than pine sap/tar/resion, so it's going to stay on your hands until you remove it and it has that unmistakable odor.
But I'll gladly smell like a Christmas tree with sticky hands to enjoy the ability to warm up more quickly, not tire out as quickly and have immensely better stick control than go without this essential product.

I tried this at a music store, trying to get the Jazz III picks to stay in my grip. This stuff smells a lot like pine rosin (think violin bow rosin). It works great for gripping. However, if you wipe your hands on your jeans, it will pick up fuzz. Also, if you decide to finger pick, you will get this stuff all over your strings. It's a good idea, but it's just not for everyone. For me, picks with a grip area on them work better.

Comments about Gorilla Snot:
I'm in a Christian Worship band so the style I play goes from folk finger picking to light jazz to old gospel and rock. And the GS keeps me in there all the time. I use Kelly Speed picks on my thumb (MF doesn't carry them ) so the goo is up the thumb a little and not my thumb nail so it doesn't interfere with finger picking. In my show, it's a must.
Comments about Gorilla Snot:
I discovered this product about 20 years ago and find it very difficult to play accurately and quickly without using a very small amount if it on thumb and first finger.
Comments about Gorilla Snot:
I have found that while playing any style of music where fast strumming is involved, a small amount of Gorilla Snot will enable me to use a lighter grip on the pick therefore aiding to the strumming accuracy. Gripping the pick too tightly (so it won't go flying away) inhibits the fluidity of the strumming motion. Works great for me.

Comments about Gorilla Snot:
This stuff is great. When I play shows I'll sweat and I get a little nervous sometimes and grip extra hard on my pic. It may effect my playing and this stuff completely eliminates that hassle.
Comments about Gorilla Snot:
im in a christian band, but were just practicing, im the lead singer/guitarist at the same time and sometimes my mind gets away from the pick and flys across our sanctuary, like 10 feet on some of our solo
Comments about Gorilla Snot:
it does help you hold your sticks a lot and that is great but it leaves sticky crap all over hands when your done
Comments about Gorilla Snot:
I've been using Gorilla Snot for years. I have carpal tunnel, and I play pretty hard, so I'm always looking for ways to help keep the pick in my hand, and in the right position. I'm always looking for new ideas, and I have tried several gimmick picks, but nothing yet has come close to Gorilla Snot and a Dunlop Gatorgrip 2.0. Just be sure not to zone out right before a gig and put it on the wrong hand. Not that I have ever done that...
