The Gretsch Energy 5-piece Shell Pack comes with externally mounted toms . The suspended toms feature “quick" 10" and 12" sizes, which provide punchy tones and allow for lower positioning to benefit younger drummers. A non-drilled bass drum ensures a lasting resonance and comes with a quality sound-dampened bass drum head.
All 100% Poplar shells have a naturally finished interior, 30-degree bearing edges, and feature a 5 lug configuration on 10" and 12" toms with Gretsch style tension rods that draw from the rich Gretsch lineage. The suspended tom holders also include memory locks and a ball-and-socket setup to ensure an easy and ergonomic setup.
The Gretsch Energy series is perfect for the first time buyer and packed with features that are found on semi-pro drum sets. Note that hardware and cymbals are not included.

I bought this kit to keep in our rehearsal space for convenience of not having to break down the road kit. With a proper tuning job, some minor adjustments to the snare strainer ends, some properly placed Moon Gels, & a small amount of baffling in the bass drum, this kit sounds & plays great. I just cant believe how good they look, sound, & feel for less than $300! None of the guys could believe how much I paid for the complete setup, which included the SP 5 pc hardware set, Meinl MCS cymbol pack, & some extra cymbol stands all for less than $800. Totally satisfied! Best kit in this price range HANDS DOWN.

This is an above average starter or intermediate kit. I have yet to find anything I don't like. The bass sounds great. The muffler on the bass batter head works as advertised. Very punchy. I owned drums years ago and then life happened. Drums were sold. I've wanted a set since the day I sold them. This kit has cured me. Love these Gretsch!
