        Dissapointed

Comments about Gretsch Drums Hammered Steel Snare Drum:

I bought this drum a couple months ago and it has yet to give me the sound I expected. I've experienced several issues with positioning of snare wires, been through numerous head changes trying to find my sound and so on...to no avail. This drum (certainly mine) refuses to stay in tune. Never have I had to tune a drum, play one song and literally tune it again. Very dissapointed. It is pretty to look at...for whatever thats worth

        Such high hopes....

Comments about Gretsch Drums Hammered Steel Snare Drum:

I got this snare with high hopes of it having a nice ring, super snap, and a range that could go any where. This drum pretty much could do all of that, except one fatal flaw. The butt plate was not screwed in straight to the drum. So it's impossible to get even tension using a plastic strap on the snares. you need to use wire, distribute the pressure just right, and MAYBE once in a blue moon you'll get a perfect snare sound. Also, the drum seems to detune pretty easily. I'm buying American next time

I just received this snare a couple days ago, and I am in love! Crank it high, or tune it low, you can get an amazing sound out of it! The G1 coated head may not work for all, but can easily be swapped out. Overall, two thumbs up!

Comments about Gretsch Drums Hammered Steel Snare Drum:

I bought this snare when looking for an alternative for my maple snare. I have found this snare so enjoyable that I have yet to play my old snare since, aside from practicing. This snare combine a great crack with nice base tones that you can feel in your chest, and has a nice resonant 'hum' that rides out well.
