I took an old (about 20 years) Sabian AA Rock Hat that looked pretty bad to use as a test. The instructions are simple: Spray, wait 30 seconds, rinse, and dry. For heavy soiled cymbals you may want to brush along the tonal grooves with a soft bristle brush (perhaps an old toothbrush) before rinsing. I didn't have an old toothbrush so I tried the first application without brushing. The cymbal was cleaner but still a long way from clean. A second application, using a paper towel to rub into the cymbal and waiting a bit longer than 30 seconds; proved to make a HUGE difference. Was simply effortless, quick, and effective. I'll be using this stuff on a regular basis to keep my cymbals looking good on stage.

I bought this because the local drum shop was out of Zildjian cymbal polish. Let's be very clear here, this is NOT polish, it is ACID. The way this stuff "cleans" your cymbals is by eating away the top layer. I used it on some mid-level cymbals. It did not remove the scuffs or marks, it just made the whole cymbal a shade brighter (which, to be fair, is what it says it will do).

Beware that this is an acid bath for your cymbals. There's no way I am putting this on my K Customs, I don't want them damaged. I use it on lower-end cymbals that look dark or oxidized.

So, it works and does what it says it will do, but don't expect as nice of a result as if you polish them by hand, and only use it if you want a layer of alloy removed from your cymbal. I am sticking with Zildjian Cymbal Polish, been using it for years and have never been disappointed. Yeah it takes a little elbow grease, but you get out what you put in. Use Groove Juice at your own risk.

Comments about Groove Juice Cymbal Cleaner:

Good cleaner if you want to strip your cymbals and make em shinny. Bad cleaner if you want your cymbals to look how they came when they were new. The acid based cleaner will eat the logo off you cymbal if that would bother you, especially if you do any brushing. Good cleaner in the right application.

Comments about Groove Juice Cymbal Cleaner:

This product works great, in bronze cymbal... I've used it to clean a set of Zildjian ZHT. Well the cymbals are very dirty, looks very dull. It didn't work much in this line of cymbal, I mean it might works if your cymbals are not as dirty as mine. But it works great on my Bosphorus cymbal , just spray it and leave it for 30 seconds and it will being out the shine again. Another thing is, it removes the logo, so you have to be careful about the logo. If your cymbal is very dirty, the most effective cleaner that I've ever experience is Bar Keeper's Friend, it requires some hand work but it works as great as this on every kind of cymbal. Lastly, apply some cymbal protector to make it last longer, or just prevent fingerprints. WORKS GREAT FOR BRONZE CYMBAL

Not to be used on good cymbals with protective coating. Will take the coating off.
Needs to be used in extremely well ventilated area. Absolutely a waste of money.
This does not clean close to the regular cleaners by zildjian.

It doesn't get any easier than this. Just spray on, wait 30 seconds, rinse off. I will lightly wipe the cymbal with a sponge or rag to get heavier marks off, but otherwise, it works very effectively. Groove Juice imparts a very nice sheen to the cymbal, too.

DO NOT USE THIS ON TITANIUM CYMBALS. I now own a couple of brass zxt titaniums thanks to this stuff. The good new is that they now match the rest of the zxt rock pack on my kit because they are all the same color. It is amazing on the regular finished cymbals but you don't want to leave it on them very long. It is an acid, not a polish.
