I bought 2 of these pedals in Sept 2012. They are easy to use and really help build foot strength and speed. They are pretty quiet, so quiet that if you are using them while drumming on a practice pad they are hard to hear but you can make them a louder with either the disks you can purchase or just make your own from a harder material.
I was torn between getting these and a bass drum practice pad but these are easier to transport and quieter.
I had a problem with one of the pedals becoming noisy/squeaky and having a sticky action. I got in touch with Mark at Hansenfutz and he quickly repaired the pedal (cracked tension adjustment cap) and even sent me a couple of the power springs. Great customer service.

Seriously, this thing is just like the guitar hero pedal. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but this was not it. The pedal is made of plastic and feels very flimsy. Also, the response is absolutely nothing like a real pedal because it hinges on the heel side rather than the toe side like a real kick. My kit is in storage (I live in an apt) and I can?t always get there to play when I want to. I bought this so, in conjunction with my practice pad, I could at least work on some hand to feet combos. Hammering out rudiments on my pad every day gets really old. For the price I was very dissatisfied and returned immediately upon receiving it. I?ll probably just buy a cheap pedal and a bass drum practice pad. This solution is noisier and more expensive, but it is the only realistic way to practice on the kick without a real bass drum. Save your money.

I have not used these things very much even though I've had them like a year and a half. I finally started using them regularly because I can't play much right now.....and one of the spring hinges went out.... So now I have one pedal.. not ideal.

Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
My main drawback is that it doesn't feel like a real pedal. without the rebound and weight of a beater it makes it difficult to adapt back to the real thing. Might as well practice with the floor.
Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
A good tool to build endurance and work on speed
Received the pedal about a week ago and have been using it under my desk at work.
Although it does not feel exactly like a real pedal it is an excellent tool to build endurance and strength. I am pleased with the purchase.
too soon to tell if it will hold up
I feel it is over priced for a plastic pedal.
Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
i use this mainly as my hi high foot with my DW go anywhere practice kit and it works great for that! and its also a great silent bass drum workout pedal if you make the tension harder one it and it works amazing for that! i would have gave it 5 of out 5 but it is mostly plastic but i have it had it so 5 months and no complaints!

Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
I've had two of these for about 3 months or so. I keep them under my desk at work, and just practice all day while I'm working. I've loved them since the start, and saw a dramatic improvement, quickly, when it came to my speed and endurance. The reason I'm writing this came later: I recently severely sprained an ankle, with shows booked soon. I have been using these extensively to exercise almost nonstop, and am 2-3 weeks ahead of my recovery schedule, and already back on my drums. I can't possibly recommend these enough.
Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
I bought two of these for quiet practice and to warm up before gigs. Unfortunately, they don't feel anything like actual bass drum pedals. So now for warm-up I just do what I did before, just tap my feet on the ground. It works about as well and is cheaper and more convenient. For quiet practice get a bass drum practice pad.
Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
Since I play a double bass pedal, I bought two of the Futz Practice Pedals. Right off the bat, I had problems. One pedal was fine, but the other was missing the cap where the impact pad hits the little cylindrical tower on the floor plate, and there was no velcro on the bottom. I got on the phone right away with Mark at Hansenfutz, and he is correcting these problems ASAP, so he gets five stars for excellent customer service. My biggest concern, though, is the tension adjustment mechanism. Even with a large screwdriver, the plastic was so soft and the adjustment to increase the tension to the max required so much pressure that the slots are already chewed up. Because of this, I will not be making any more tension adjustments out of fear of damaging the adjustment mechanism to where I can no longer use the pedals.
Comments about Hansenfutz Futz Practice Pedal:
Ok, so I can see how people can compare this to the Rock Band pedal, BUT with this you can tell it is truly designed for exercising and improving leg speed and endurance. I bought 2, for double bass, about 2 or 3 months ago. It has easily doubled my endurance level and enables me to go faster for longer periods of time. It makes sure that it exercises your leg muscles the EXACT same way so you don't have the "weaker or more dominant leg" problem. It's very small, light, durable, and quiet too so I can take them with me on the road and practice back stage or in quiet environments as well. Worth the buy!
