I've owned the KCP-5 Crash pad for several years now. I used it at home for my 5 Piece Gretsch Catalina with Hi-Hat and 3 cymbal set-up. To accommodate my full set, I have the base drum and Hi-Hat spurred into the pad, but my cymbal stands can only fit one, maybe two legs on the pad. The rubber edges do not prevent movement. To stop movement, I have to place as much of my throne on the pad as possible.
The material of the pad is much TOO thin. As noted in other reviews, the spurs from the hi-hat, Kick and even kick pedals can protrude through the pad and damage the floors underneath.
Because of their small footprints, Electronic or Portable Acoustic sets (Pearl Rhythm Traveler or Traps Drum A400) would be best suited for the Crash Pad.
Also note that when I first purchased the Crash Pad, I had to steam out its wrinkles caused by storage in its carrying case. To prevent them from returning, I disregard the carrying case and role it up when transporting it. All in all, I now only use this pad at small venues and carry four rubber backed rug tiles to protect customer floors. Otherwise, I use a plush area rug for my 8 piece Gretsch USA Custom.

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

The rug arrived from MF smelling like mildew. It was also very poorly sewn together such that I could not get it to flatten out after 3 days with a sheet of plywood on top. Also moves around on the floor because there is not rubber backing in the center of the rug; just on the edges. Overall not a quality product.

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

I have used this rug for several years. The rug itself has withstood the test of time--the flimsy bag it comes in ripped fairly quickly. Works well on stages that are not very slick but slides all over the place on wood floors and other very smoothe services. I have to duct tape it down in the back. If they put the non skid strips under the rug rather than around the edges, it might stay better..

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

This is a great drum rug. The rug itself is like a heavy felt-type wool material or something. It fits my normal size drumset just fine, with all pieces fitting on it, with only some of the cymbal stand legs off of it (which is fine). Bass drum (22"), Floor tom (16"), high hat stand, snare, and throne/seat all fit just fine with room to spare. The rug comes with a bag too, and is easily to take the rug in and out of the bag. There is actually spare room in the bag, where I keep a few handy tools and some duct tape for emergencies or who knows what. I purchased the rug in 2011, now it is 2015 and it's about had it. The bass drum spurs have worn holes in it, the wood block piece is more flimsy than it used to be, and it's just generally worn. I played on it about 3-4 times a month, gigging around town. Generally a great rug. Would purchase again.

This pad was for my 6 year old's drum set. It works as intended...it does not stay stuck to the floor, that is why I recommend double sided tape.

                Not bad

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

I bought this when it was on the "Stupid Deal of the Day" promo. My biggest beef is the size. I only play a small 4 pc trap kit with only 2 cymbal/tom stands and I can't even get all of their feet on the rug. It did its job and my kit stayed put. Here's the thing though, the rug material is not very thick so if you have the metal tips of your bass drum spurs exposed and you're playing on a wood floor, watch it - you will likely leave permanent scratches. Also, I bought a rug from Costco that was over twice the size and about $10 cheaper. It didn't have the bass drum block or the finished corners but it was the same material.

                Horrible, don't waste your money

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

I bought this same drummers mat but it's called a Road runner mat sold at GC... Man, I thought this was a great idea to have the angled wood stop built into the front of it to brace the bass drum. This idea works but that's the only good selling point. The carpet itself is horrible! Their is absolutely NO backing on the carpet! it's nothing more than a thin piece of carpet layed on the floor that moves with the lightest touch. The edges have a thinly sewed rubber band border but this does nothing for stability because the middle is where all the action is coming from when you use the bass drum kick pedals. The carpet moves all over the place and never stays flat even if you just walk on it... This drum Mat needs to be thicker to work. It needs to have a backing attached to it so it won't move around or bunch up. Maybe then it won't move when it's layed down on the floor. Final verdict; This drum mat is no different than laying a thin towel under your drum set.And if you did this obviously it's going to move around even when you walk on it to get to your drums. My advice to anyone looking to buy a drum mat for their set, don't buy any drum mat that's super thin like this one because you will end up doing what I am going to do with it.I lost the reciept so no it's going to be used to do oil changes in my garage when I have to lay on the ground...This is a horrible design!
