OVERVIEW

An innovative set of sensor clips and a module to practice anywhere.

A perfect balance of size and economy, the ClipHit practice drum set for beginners is superior in its ease of use, compactness and price when compared to existing entry-level digital drums. Use the included three sensory clips to play drum sounds such as snare, toms, hi-hats and cymbals, and use the included pedal switch (PS-3) to play the bass drum. The "EFX" set features sounds such Dog (Pedal1), Cat (Pedal 2), Tambourine (CLIP 1), Wood Block (CLIP 2) and Hand Claps (CLIP 3). This set can be used to demonstrate KORG's unique sensor clip technology in an entertaining way!

The module features eleven different combinations including snare, hi-hat, toms, cymbals and bass drums. If you add an optional pedal switch, you'll be able to simultaneously play a total of five different sounds, three with the clips and two with the pedal, expanding your drum performance to hi-hat open/close or double bass. EFX programmed sounds such as conga, tambourine, hand-claps and even dog barks are just some of the wide variety of sounds included in the ClipHit.

The ClipHit is also compact and easily storable, but looks good enough to leave on display in offices, studios and living spaces. Four AA batteries allow up to six hours of operation, allowing you to enjoy playing in a wide range of situations. There's also an AUX input so you can connect an MP3 player and jam along. Comments about ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

It's a toy. I returned it. It's not loud enough to use with an acoustic guitar. And the output is for head phones.

Comments about Korg ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

I tried this device to add some basic percussion to our practices and possible live use once in a while. It's kind of cool in how you can attach the clips to just about anything and trigger the sounds. Even though the triggers are velocity sensitive, I didn't like that fact that the kick was not, or that you couldn't get to have touch-sensitivity even with on of the trigger inputs. You can adjust the volume, but it stays at that constant volume. Even though the device has a reasonable amount of sounds, there just wasn't a good selection for what I was listening for.(user subjective) Even though I sent it back, I still think it might be a clever little device for some applications.

Comments about Korg ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

I think this thing is great myself. I do a one man band show, and I took this out busking the other day just for some accompaniment and it worked pretty well. I also took it to practice with a guy I do drums for and we did an acoustic practice and I hooked this up to a couple of things, ran it into a bass amp and BAM! It was great to practice with. I wish it had midi out and a 1/4" out, but for what it is, it's pretty cool.

I'm not a drummer, and I already had a set of digital drums. TBH, I got this for my grandkids. It's great! Portable, and you can play the unit by itself, without plugging in any of the clips, like a bongo! And WITH the clips and included foot pedal, it's drums anytime, anywhere! Great product!

Comments about Korg ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

I got this for my 15 year old son that is becoming an amazing bass and guitar player. He uses this with his feet when playing songs so that he can maintain a drumbeat. This has also helped him with his rymthm because he can use it in his bedroom and not disturb the rest of the house. The drum sounds are authentic and it's perfect price for that student who is learning to play drums.

Comments about Korg ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

Thought I'd try it out since it was on the SDotD sale hoping for a compact rhythm device to add to my live looping hardware, but unfortunately the clip on sensors are not sensitive enough. I tried various surfaces and objects using hands or sticks and you have to hit close enough to the sensor that occasionally the sensor itself is struck. Not good for long term reliability of the sensor. If you're looking for a portable percussion device, spend a little bit more and get the Alesis Sample Pad Pro.

Comments about Korg ClipHit Electronic Drum Kit:

portability you can take it anywhere. And I would suggest using drum sticks although pencils will work.
It takes a little getting use to. You don't have to program it! But don't waste your time with the 3" speaker it uses a 3.5 mm headphone output, with that and a 1/4" stereo plug adapter you can do almost anything.
You can plug it into any amplifier or a mixer or an 8 track board. You will need a 3.5 mm extension cord
and a 1/4" stereo adapter plug they come in a variety of lengths. I believe MF sells these also..
So armed with these few things and a little imagination wow. And it wouldn't hurt to have some drumming experience.Oh yeah and you can add a second pedal for a more complete sound.
