Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

As a teacher/coach I need more time signatures, all the 3's, 9/8, 12/8 etc. ad nauseum. This gadget doesn't have them.
I'm a little too busy to program my own patterns, but the generic ones work for rhythm behind a student doing basic 4/4 Pop music - better than a metronome. Do flute duets to drums: fun!
The instruction manual, particularly online pdf, could be much more precise in terms of real rhythm patterns. If you're only doing Pop music, it'll help.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

If you came up in the 60s or 70s and you miss those old-school push-button rhythm machines, you will LOVE how simple this is to use! And for less money than most stompboxes.

I'm a songwriter, and primarily play bass and guitar.

All I want from a drum machine is good-sounding drums and usable patterns. I can sit down and practice or jam along with drums, or I can record a quick & dirty demo in one pass. That's all I need, and that's why I bought this unit.

The drum sounds are EXCELLENT! I've used a couple of the rock patterns and and a couple of the jazz patterns for demos and just goofing around/practicing. The KORG KRMini is dead simple to use - find the setting you want, set the speed, and hit the Start button. It can be programmed, but I will probably never need that.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

While the sound of this unit isn't great, the fact that it has no way of setting a specific tempo is a deal breaker. If all my other gear is running at 120 bpm, there's no way to accurately get this unit there, other than guessing.

The other thing I hate about this unit is having to press multiple buttons to change features, or having to go through a complex sequence of steps. They've made this thing much too difficult to use, just add a few more buttons and mark them clearly.

This thing is so poorly designed it's doubtful the people who made it actually use it.

If your looking for pro quality keep looking. Great for hobby and home use
Built in patterns are good, how ever I had a fun (LOL) time under standing the manual instructions for recording my own patterns without a base pattern as I wanted to record 3/4 count (waltz) patterns. I finely got it right. The built in speaker sounds like hitting a small can with a stick, but connected to amp the patterns sound good.
