This unit came in perfect, brand new in the box condition. As always, Musicians Friend/UPS fails to disappoint.

One issue came up early when noodling with the buttons. An error code E1 started blinking...ohhh no. I looked at the owners manual and it says, SEND THE UNIT TO KORG.

I checked all the various websites and forums. One thread referred to a 2gb Micro SD card attached to the PCB. One blogger stated that removing this card will reset the E1 Error Message.

So, I tried it....and it worked.

The repair took 20 minutes. Unplug from the wall. Unscrew the fasteners, pop the back off. Remove the PCB, take out the memory chip by pressing slightly inward to release it. Put, it back in. Put everything back like it was, and it should fire back up ready to use. Again, this worked for me. I hope this helps.

I'm loving this little unit, great sounds to improv around. If you have another looper it really expands the possiblities with guitar accompaniment. I have it running through a Fender Gdec3 15. Perfect for the DIY drummer.

I couldn't find a use for it. I didn't find the touch responsiveness quite good enough to use seriously for practice. Most of the sounds are too cheesy for recording or live use. Some of the better sounds are included in suites that include less desirable sounds, so as you play the pad it takes a great deal of practice and precision to get, say, a kick sound on demand every time and not a whacky rim shot. The great majority of the sounds will be useless to most drummers. There are lots of hip-hop, dance sounds and lots of novelty sounds. The clip is great for adding an extra rhythm, but I didn't find it to take on the tonality of the material to which it's attached to any great degree. The mini is fun, though, and affordable at the SDOTD price. I would have kept it if it included more usable sounds.

    Comments about Korg Wavedrum Mini:

I bought this with 2 purposes in mind, recording and using with a live group to supplement the drummer. It can do both quite nicely. The "clip" is an ingenious part of this gear, allowing you to have two distinct sounds going on, and with some variation in the clip sound depending what you attach it too. The built in speaker is fine for a quick practice, but not meant for real performance. Plug it into a guitar amp or PA and it really comes to life. It appears to be well built and should hold up with reasonable care. With 100 sounds to choose from, you should find several that you really like and will use more often. The built in loops are nice for practice, and I only wish there was a tempo control for the loop. I got this as a SDOD and couldn't be more pleased. And as usual in dealing with MF, it was shipped quickly. Thanks for another great deal !!

    Comments about Korg Wavedrum Mini:

I got this as a Stupid Deal of the Day after looking at several online videos of the instrument. However, I find the voices on the instrument to be rather limited, the touch sensitivity to be too indiscriminate, and honestly...it just doesn't sound all that good. Despite the "Wavedrum" name, this is really more of a toy than a serious musical instrument like the Wavedrum.

Also, the clip that comes with it, while a neat idea, is limited by the fact that, since its sound comes the drum itself, it sounds just as low quality as the drum. So I haven't found a use for that, either.

I don't expect to be getting too much use out of it.

I'm still not sure if it was a mistake forme to buy this or not. It's best use has been with a bright, artistic child to create dynamic improvisation sessions. The large majority of sounds are not useable for my personal work tho I think it might be functional accompanying a dance class.

I got this as the Stupid Deal of the Day, couldn't pass it up. It's lots of fun to make some noise on, but has some limitations which would make using it in a performance setting less than ideal. I invited my neighbor over to check it out, he's a very picky drummer who doesn't like electronic percussion much. He was having a blast! It's really quite dynamic and responsive, and the clip-on trigger is a super cool tool. I might get some batteries in this thing and my microcube amp and do some busking with a buddy of mine, but trying to use it in a band situation would be a stretch.

Being a drummer, it let's me have fun, get creative, and not bug others. I bought it on a whim during a STOD. Only regret is not getting two. With two and the remote sensors I could of had a mini drum set with me anywhere and played anytime.

I wanted to add this to my live rig (guitar player) to cover things
Ike hand claps, DJ scratch, other hand drums. Too many sounds missing. This is more toy than musical instrument. it's too cheaply made to take to gigs, the sounds are poor and I returned it. Unhappy this was advertised as a real instrument as I had to eat shipping (the "free" shipping") when I returned it.

Don't waste your time. Not worth the stupid deal price.

I purchased this for jamming with friends on acoustic instruments when no drum kit is available. The numerous voices imitate almost any drum or percussive sound you can think of.
Striking the pad in various way varies the sound.
The clip can be attached to other items and sounds attached to it to create a mini kit. Battery power allows for usage where no power is available.

I hadn't actually seen the product in person. I thought maybe it had some ethnic percussion; I probably misunderstood. The concept of being able to use any surface as the drum is cool, but the sounds are useless for my music. Maybe if you're a rapper you could use this. I couldn't. I generally like Korg products. I had a Karma for years. It was a good price however.

Ordered with the idea of using as a trigger for aux sounds to use while playing out. Not really designed for this use. Its really cool and has some sweet sounds, but not functional as a play out tool. Studio use or practice, even jamming around with your buddies it might be a very functional thing, but just seems like another gadget or toy to me. Quality and workmanship is awesome though.
