for the money this won out. in store I tried it, meinl headliner, and two $300 cajons. headliner was nasty sounding (snares were rattly and loose despite being tightened by me and the salesman, bass was thin and high pitched despite brief attempt to tune it lower). one $300 model was much deeper in bass than all the rest and would have won out if I'd had $300 to spend. other $300 model and this lp aspire accent, once the accent was properly tuned by the salesman and myself in the store, were pretty similar sounding and feeling, and the aspire looks much nicer.
A pro sounding unit for entry level money and none of the nasty snare sound of the headliner. I've heard headliners sound good and bad on youtube, but this was in a different league and I thought I wouldnt' be able to afford something that sounded, and looked, this good.
I bought it!
uses screwdriver for all adjustments, not included. no snare adjuster on side (on/off) like pricier models have. but the features it does include work very well indeed.
very good but plywood front that I would imagine is different in the pricier models. feels good and solid, but obviously not in the same league as the pro models and I doubt it will last as well. thin woods, but solid feeling for sure right now.
better by far sounding and looking than the #1 entry level model in the store, the meinl headliner.
if you want a meinl, check these out too, it might be more what you're looking for if you are worried about rough sounding loose snare rattles and want good solid deep bass resonance without a bunch of crunchy snare sound from the bass.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
Just picked up one of these Cajon's this week. I went to my local Guitar Center and banged on every Cajon they had in stock. This was by far the best of them all including several that were much more expensive. This one does not have the option of disengaging the snares but you don't really need it. The snares are attached to the top section only so it is the only area where you get the snare sound. The lower part has killer bass tones with no snare rattle to deal with. This is my first Cajon but I have played on many others and this one beats them all. I play in a blues/rock band but we also do acoustic shows which is what I intend to use the Cajon for. I'll be playing it at a live show next weekend and I can't wait to see how it sounds in the mix. If you are in the market for a Cajon this is definitely the way to go.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
I was really unsure on what cajon I was going to purchase . I decided I would go for the LP aspire accents. I new Lp was the leader in quality in percussions and the colors were just wonderful. When I opened the box and seen my cajon it was stunning. I took it out and began to play . The response was awesome and the bass tones were killer. With a little tuning looking on utube, I even got a better sound. Then researching more I seen that they sell a port hole ring for these. I put that on in two minutes, and the bass was incredible and the highs were still nice and sharp. I have tried other cajons and this sounds as good and even better than those very high priced ones.... Go LP ! you can't go wrong on this one...

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
This drum sounds like a drum kit in a box. Sounds great on my digital recorder! Great for jamming if you don't have a full drum kit and drummer. We are thinking of playing some gigs with it. Once you mic the drum it sounds awesome on a PA.
Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
I bought this Cajon because I needed an alternative to lugging my trap set everywhere. I have had it for just over a year now and I must say, I am very satisfied with it. I play this thing ALOT and I don't hold back. This Cajon takes everything I can throw at it and still sounds and looks beautiful. Definitely well worth the money for this one.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
Like I said, worth every dollar for someone who wants to start learning and/or doing acoustic shows. Would even be great just to sit around and jam by yourself.
Great sound, the snares sound fairly good and the bass is decent. Also the finish on the drum made it a great looking show piece in my living room as well. The only thing I wish it had was an adjustable snare so you can turn it on or off.
This is where I really had the biggest problem. The face plate on the drum started chipping around the bottom screws the very first day after about 45 minutes of playing. One piece completely chipped off and two other spots are bubbling up about to fall off. I emailed musicians friend and they're replacing it so I'm thinking I just got one that slipped through and I'm excited to get my replacement.
Definitely worth the money for someone who is just getting into playing. I got it for acoustic shows and it blends so well with what my band is doing. By far worth every dollar.
Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
I would recommend this drum to beginners and experts!
Nice finish on the Cajon.
Built very well and since you have to sit on this to play, it's important that it is very sturdy!
I did research for a while before buying this Cajon. What you get as far as quality and appearance far exceeds anything else you can find (brand new)
Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
It's hard to find a cajon that's shorter that 19", but larger than a child's cajon. The Schlagwerk 2-in-One medium is of course wonderful, but a little more expensive. This one is just the right height for a 5-foot tall player. The sound is great, and it's a beautiful instrument
Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:
Looks great, sounds great, lightweight and low cost...what else could be said except "Buy This Cajon".
This Cajon has crisp highs and lows that compliment. Lightweight to carry on your back for traveling around. Looks great too!
Built solid, but very lightweight!
With the sale Musician's Friend had going it was PERFECT! The sound far exceeds the cost.
