A percussion bag of many tricks.
LP artist Stephen Perkins has walked the wild side in search of unusual .and effective percussion instruments. This time, collaboration with Latin Percussion has resulted in the introduction of the LP Go-Jo Bag, a deceptively simple percussion device with a surprisingly wide range of uses.
The Go Jo Bag is a tough little sealed bag, filled with shot, which Stephen and fellow designer Joey Klaparda specially selected to suit the myriad of uses and sounds they envisioned. And while the LP Go-Jo Bag will fit most palms easily, it is equipped with an adjustable strap so that it will stay with the hand through some of its fancier maneuvers.
To give you an idea of the possibilities inherent in the Go-Jo Bag, let's examine a few available playing techniques. First, try grasping the bag, then simply open and close the hand. That's one undulating tone. Then roll the percussion bag in a circular motion to emulate a rain stick or ocean drum.
Or how about this one: Adjust the strap so the Go Jo bag sits on the back of your hand. Then play a drum-the congas, for example. Your conga slaps will be shadowed by a delightful shaking. And while we're in the business of shaking, play two Go-Jo Bags maracas style. When you're done, undo the straps and toss the bags and catch them in time with the music. Refine your juggling skills, while you're at it! Or smack two bags together for a pleasing, snappy sound, or smack one bag against--well, your imagination is your only barrier now! This is getting fun.

There is a plastic ring that double backs the velcro strip. It cut up my Dejembe heads doing one song. I've cut it out and put part of the velcro so that it doesn't double back. It is kind of hard to get it real tight but it doesn't destroy my heads. It would be better if sold as pairs not just one. The sound is really low and requires micing to be heard.
