Versatile, Cuts Through

Comments about LP452 Multi-Guiro:

I'm crazy about all the different sounds you can get, depending on what type of scraper and guiro surface is chosen. I'd definitely recommend a multi scraper (metal bar) in addition to the torpedo style scraper.
This is easily the most versatile weapon in my arsenal of percussion. The deep grooves have a clackety sound, and the finer raspy side is great for anything from Cajun to Latin to jazz & blues, and most points in between. The shaker function can be a little heavy (when all the filling is used) if played throughout a long song, but I still use it a lot, especially when I need to cut thru loud electric instruments.
A very well-made, solid instrument, that never seems to wear out. Been playing one for about 15 years that barely shows signs of wear. The tines in the torpedo scraper DO eventually start coming out, but this can be mended or the scraper replaced without too much cost.
Can take the place of several instruments when space or cost is an issue.

    Comments about LP452 Multi-Guiro:

I used one of these for about 4 years on a worship team both on mic and off. Never saw any wear at all. Sound cuts through drums and more, even when not on mic and very versatile. Large ridges give a unique sound in more of a lower pitch with clacking, and smaller ridges gives that normal gyro sound but with the metal edge to it. It is large but can be used as a shaker. Being a female with smaller hands, it is hard to sustain the shaking action though. Only con is I wish they made one like this but smaller around for percussionist with smaller hands. I am reordering one now as someone stole the last one I had out of my vehicle.
