    Mmm, not that impressed

    Comments about LP456 Crystal Rainstick:

    Let me preface this by saying that I have only owned two rainsticks in my life. The first one I purchased in a market in Juarez, Mexico and I love it. This one was suppose to be my new primary, but it sounds cheap. I think the reason is because the tree is plastic and the "steel fill" looks to be either completely plastic or covered in it. Logically I should have known better. Plastic tube+plastic tree+ plastic shots= Plastic sound. In my opinion, the best rainstick is wood trees, with pebble or steel shots. The other issue was the flow. When you invert it completely it comes down hard; but if you wish a controlled, slow sound, the trees get in the way.

    I have just purchased the 40" rainstick, and I love it! The best feature is that it is trasparent, so you can see the flow and control your rain effect!
