Small in size, yet big on sound.
The LP Micro Snare boasts a small 8" x 3-1/2" drum shell that produces a huge sound. The drum also is equipped with a quick-release on-off lever that engages or disengages snare wires. The result is a crisp snare or timbale effect that cuts with authority.
The LP Micro Snare Drum is a great add-on for any drummer or percussionist, and it even has applications on the marching field. Mount your LP Micro Snare Drum on most bar-type holders or clamp it on 3/8" to 1/2" bars.
Great for Latin, Brazilian, and reggae, as well as techno, trance, and drum 'n' bass.

Comments about LP Micro Snare Drum:
This is a great little add-on "popcorn" snare. I added it to my 6 piece Yamaha birch set on a Pearl articulating cymbal mount attached to the high-hat upright, positioning the drum securely directly between the 14" snare and hat cymbals. For me, that is an ideal position for adding in quick fills between the hat and main snare with left stick or as part of the overall set for fills, triplets, rudiments, etc. This little drum has no lower head; the snares are internal brushes that rotate up to contact the bottom of the batter via a side mounted lever. You can easily rotate them up or down; in the down position the brushes do not contact the head at all, giving you a sweet little high-pitched tom. In snare mode, it's a decent snare sound, definitely works well with my main snare although I probably wouldn't use it as a snare in its own right (depends on the song I guess). Center of the head, you can get a pretty decent crack out of it and rim-shots are possible. To add a little color and variation on fills and snare rudiments, it's amazing. With the brushes down, great little tom and I have it tuned to compliment the neighboring roto-tom. Stick response is great, really pops and bounces, great feel. Build quality is excellent, metal shell and hardware throughout, decent chrome plating, solid and light. I expect it to last forever. Mounting is via a standard cymbal/pad anchor on side of drum. LP also makes a 6" version of this drum which I almost ordered but decided to go for the 8" with 25% more surface area; glad I did and mounting the 8" was not a problem for me space-wise. Only thing worth improving is the included head, it is black with a huge white "LP" logo that I don't much care for; I may put a Evans blue hydro on it to match the roto-tom. Overall, great little drum and addition to my kit, definitely worth the price and exactly what I had in mind when I ordered it. I love it when a plan works out
