      Great idea - poorly executed

Comments about LP One Handed Triangle:

If the product delivered consistent reliable performance - it would be 5 stars. If you are lucky enough to play an undamaged product - it sounds fantastic: pure, ringing open tones, contrasting with a great muted tone when you muffle the exposed metal with your fingers

Unfortunately, the poor quality of construction means frequent failure of the internal suspension mechanisms for the "triangle." The result: a klunky sounding tone after minimal use.

I've been able to repair and extend the life of my triangle with copious amounts of JB Weld (to repair the plastic), high strength fishing line (to replace the string that suspends the triangle) and rubber tubing (to cushion the triangle from hitting the frame)

LP should have designed this instrument with gigging drummers / percussionists in mind. I would gladly pay 3x the price if they had made a sturdier model that could withstand being played and handled in the same manner as other hand-held percussion instruments.

Comments about LP One Handed Triangle:

Take your time with this instrument. There is a subtle nuance to it ringing certain ways. The sturdy ABS plastic might fool you into beating it like a maraca. That works, but you'll likely not enjoy it for long as the internals appear fairly delicate. Comfortable to handle and clear sounding- Experimented with different positions- horizontal vs vert- alternating finger mutes and found it up to the challenge. It's enhanced my ability to add another layer of sound to my performances. Good buy.

          Hello Mr. Klunky!

Comments about LP One Handed Triangle:

I just got it because it was on sale. 25% discount.
Of course this is a good idea. Playing forr with triangle in one hand and blocks or agogo with the other is a breeze. To my taste the sound itself is a bit too tingely. I need a fuller sound like that of a aluminium triangle.

Might mention that a good idea is to put some anti-slip adhesive tape on the sides to make it easier to grip. If not you will be more concerned with preventing it from sliding out of your hand than playing it.
Quality sucks. I bought one and returned it because it made klunky sounds. It's a rubber washer that falls off after only 30 min. of playing. I got another one and the same problem ocurred. Maybe its just this batch. A friend of mine got one when they came out on the market. He had no problems.
Also, don't think of hitting anything with it. The plastic casing will break.
Ok, I got mine on sale so it's no big deal. But no reason to accept a faulty product. Returning mine.

          Neat!

Comments about LP One Handed Triangle:

This is a really interesting and unique precussion instrument. You need to practice with it and learn how to play it to get the most out of it. It has two cut-outs that let you damp it with your finger or thumb. This lets you damp up strokes or down strokes, so you can mix ringing notes with damped clicks. If you just keep a beat with it and then damp it in a clave pattern with your thumb and forefinger, it sounds musical. With some practice, you can do intricate patterns quickly with one hand.
It is very loud and cutting, but not in an obnoxious way. It has a very nice clean triangle sound. It is a lot of fun to play with it and to work out patterns. If you just pick it up, you might not get it with the damping notches, and if you hold it wrong it won't ring out clearly. There are some videos online that can give you the right idea of how to get started.

Great concept. Too bad it's useless. The klunky sounds that it makes while knocking around inside the casing is louder than the triangle sound.

          somewhat disappointing

Comments about LP One Handed Triangle:

The idea is a good one, unfortunately it doesnt perform as expected because in order to get it to ring you have to move it and get two sounds instead of the one chime sound as needed.
