Believe me for the price you can not beat it.
Agreed its not a dw custom, but probably the best kit on the low end priced sets. I've owned my accent for ten years and still use it to this day, mainly because i don't have the money to buy a new one, but I will tell you it is a great sounding kit if tuned right. Replace the heads as soon as possible since the stock heads will not last very long. The snare is not the greatest sounding but with new heads, manually taking off and putting the snare back on so its at its tightest, and muffling the sound by adding a piece of foam or even a sock between the bottom and the stand it does have potential. The toms and floor sound great if the sounds are tuned together correctly. This is all up to the performers ear on how high or low pitched he/she likes it. Throw a blanket in the bass drum to muffle the sound and you got yourself and solid sounding kit.
I cant say anything on the cymbals as when I purchased this set it did not come with them.
Again, this is not a $3,000 kit so don't expect it to have top of the line material in it. For beginners go with this one, you will not regret it. Overtime you will find the sound you like.

Overall just a bad drum kit, without the cymbals it should be a 200-350 dollar kit. Don't waste your time, get a Tama Silverstar (all birch shells) and the Zildjian ZBTs.
It's a very simple kit, but the hardware is terrible. Cymbals are fantastic.
With wood of an unknown origin, it sounds ok with the right heads and very good tuning. But the Zildjian ZBT cymbal set kicks some serious butt.
The cymbals are the only thing that makes this buy worth it, the drums have to have good heads and great tuning, and if you're a begginer you really won't find good tuning unless it is tuned by a pro.

You will definately want new heads put on. Why would they give you an (x-tra cymbal) but not a cymbal stand?

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
I played this kit yesterday, and it honestly is not worth buying, for anyone. It is sensitive, which is very good. However, when you play it after a while, it's starts to break apart in the next few years. It's not that reliable. I noticed that it hasn't even been owned for 4 years, and the bass drum broke, and everything is dented in, and it's only used for jazz, which requires a real light drumming.

- Snare Is Made Poorly

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
I have had this drum set for about 3 years now and honestly i cant say its a bad set. The heads are terrible but i got the Remo Ebony Pinstripe Pro Pack and now it sounds pretty decent. I LOVE the high hats and i would give the crash a 7 or 8. In the beginning the snare was pretty decent but now it rings horribly but that's probably because i don't know how to professionally tune yet. The base is also pretty good so overall for a beginner set you cant go wrong especially for the price.

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
I have owned this drum kit for five years, and must say that I am thoroughly impressed with its tenacity, quality, and tone for a drum kit of this price. All the drums on this kit sound great, but I would suggest switching out the heads that come with the drums with higher-quality ones. (ie. Remo, Evans, etc...). As well as getting better heads, I would also suggest buying better hardware when the time comes, because I have found that some of the pieces deteriorate over time and eventually break. Apart from these small defects, this drum set is very high quality and will last any drummer years.

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
I've had this set for 8 years and haven't had a problem with them. The wrap on the bass drum is slightly loose but still look great. I would recommend this set to someone looking to buy a new set on a budget.

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
dollar for dollar, these are the best drums I've ever owned and I've had three prior sets, but these are the best. Hardware, is solid and so are the heads and the sound. Hi-Hat cymbals could of been larger, instead of 13, they should of been your standard 14".

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
Very nice set. Only cons are no stand for the 14" crash, and no directions for putting it together. I found a good tutorial on the Ludwig website though, and it showed me how. It's been many years since I've had my own set, so the tuning is an ongoing learning experience. But overall, I am very very happy with the set.

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
This is a very well instrument for any player young or old. The ride and hi hat cymbals included are very good for such a good deal. But the crash is not so good. I myself replaced the crash. The heads will also need to be replaced.

Comments about Ludwig Accent Combo with Zildjian ZBT Cymbal Set:
I love this drum set! I have been playing since I was 10 and this is the first new drum set I have ever had. The cymbals are awesome and have a great sound! I love the fact that I can play rock n roll and a wide variety of music on these drums.
