This is a classic ludwig bass drum. Ludwigs have always been known for their terrific bass drums and the accent bass drum is no exception. My only problem with it is the price. Overall great bass drum.
This bass drum is very well built and has great features. I reccommend changing the drum heads out in exchange for ones with dampeners or mufflers glued on to the head itself. (Aquarian makes some of these). This helps by giving a crisper sound to the drum. Overall this drum rocks!!
I have to say that this is a very good bass drum. i have been drumming for a while and i have pleyed on many bass drums and this one goes right up with some of the bes that i have played. the only problem is the price is a little high but not to much. i recommend this drum to anyone.
There are cheap drumsets, average drumsets, good drumsets and Amazing drumsets. I own the whole ludwing accent custom set, and I'd say it falls on the Good drumset category. They play pretty well onstage as well as on-the-go jammin sessions. I got this whole set right here on this website and it has been worth down to the last penny!! It's very good for someone on a budget looking for a high quality product! I'd recomend this drum to anyone!
It is pretty good when you first get it, but I always put a pillow up to my bass, not in it, but against it. I recommend putting a pillow laying against it.
I really didn't like the sound of this bass drum and i have played many many bass drums over the 2 years i've been playing.
Pay little attention, in fact, no attention to Mr. Machine-Man below. Obviously he thinks his lowly two-year 'legacy' is enough to be judging Bass Drums.Anyway...At first I didn't think this bass would have much projection. I have always been accustomed to Yamaha's amazing basses. However, this bass gave me incredible response, with a thick bounce. The claws are a little on the flimsy side seeing as they bend when tightened higher, I recommend some nice, solid hooks. Beside that, the lower end wood used to make this shell actually does an incredible job, you'd think it was a maple! Well, not quite, but it is a good drum. As said, the head need changing. I use Remo heads, although the Evans heads work well, too.I gave value a seven because I certainly didn't enjoy dipping into the wallet this as far as I had to. I wouldn't mind if it were a Yamaha, heh, but anyway nonetheless this drum is loud, defined, and clean... as long as it stays that way I won't worry too much about its cost.
