Very stable. Easy to transport. Though the rubber feet look a bit odd, the fact that you can adjust them really does make their placement much easier and more versatile. The cymbal tilter is absolutely outstanding. Secure adjustments can be made without too much tightening all the way around. I LOVE these stands! Ludwig got it right with this design.

This stand is lightweight, but very stable and sturdy. Wingnuts and clamps are of very high quality. Flat feet can overlap other Atlas Classic stands to help with positioning. I am planning to get snare and hi-hat stands to take advantage of this feature.
If you gig a lot and are tired of lugging your heavy double braced stands, these are a great alternative. This stand is light and folds up pretty small without removing the tubes. Feet fold not quite flat, but still take up less room than double braced jobs.
I have a 20" heavy ride on this stand and it is very stable.
Wish the line was a little more affordable, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Great to see Ludwig design some new hardware. These stands are perfect for the gigging drummer as they are not only light but sturdy as well. As a gigging drummer for over 30 years, less is definitely more! The only thing I dislike is that these stands do not come with memory locks. Memory locks are so important especially when you have a minimal amount of time to set-up and tear down on darkly lit stages. I love the fact that DW's version of these stands all come with memory locks as STANDARD equipment. Come on Ludwig...you are so close to creating the perfect gigging stand!

I have been eyeing these stands for a while now. While at Forks in Nashville, I compared this to DW's flat base. By far more superior. Much more sturdy, wider stance, and overall better build quality. I put on a 21" K crash ride at a pretty high height and it performed flawlessly. I can't wait to deck out my kit completely in the Atlas Classics.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am restoring a vintage Ludwig kit and have had trouble locating reasonably priced vintage stands in good condition. Figured I would try one of these as modern, double braced stands don't look right with vintage drums. Couldn't be happier. The feet are designed so you can overlap multiple flat based Atlas Classic stands. Although a bit pricey (the Gibralar flat stand is around 30% less here at MF), the quality of the fittings, the overlapping feet, and plating quality certainly make up for the difference. Over time, I would like to get the matching snare stand and boom stand, but the higher price makes that a longer time proposition.
