Ball and Socket Concern

Comments about Ludwig Atlas Standard Snare Stand:

The ball and socket I don't like for the simple reason is it can move down when you are playing. For example, when using the rim to get a wood sound off of the stick, when playing with your hands on the snare drum like John Bonham, and over time just through regular playing on it. Overall, the basket tends to move down and needs adjusting only because of the ball and socket. I have tightened it up well and it still moves. I am a blues/classic rock musician, so I don't thrash on it either. It works well for adjusting it, but I've also found that the snare basket is not centered but off-centered as well due to the ball and socket.
