Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

This snare much to my surprise, sounds really good. I upgraded the heads and snare wires. After these upgrades, the snare came to life. Use it live or in studio, you won't be let down.

Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

Bought this snare last summer. I match this snare with my Ludwig Stignet 105 kit. This snare sounds absolutely amazing. It is well made, on par with Ludwig's high end snares, its that good. I used this snare for a recording session and the sound engineer keeps complementing how well it sounds. Thanks Ludwig for making another winner, this snare is staying put!!

Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

Many years ago I purchased the Ludwig Supraphonic LM400 14" x 5" and instantly realized why this drum was the most recorded snare and enjoyed many years playing it. Since then I have been using a birch snare that is apart of the Yamaha recording custom kit and love that sound too but it is much warmer and deeper sounding. Recently I wanted to change up my stage sound with a snare with a little more pop. Which led me back to Ludwig with that classic Ludwig snare sound, it's 13" dia. creating a snappy pop, and the astonishingly low price with the Supralite Steel snare. Based on the price I did not expect to see such high quality construction and what a great sound. I assume Ludwig created this drum to match the price point of other drum manufacturers with inferior products. This drum just proves to me that Ludwig has been refining the snare drum design to a point where they don't know how to make a "Cheap" drum. This is a snare that every drummer should own and at this price point is affordable to many serious drummers.
