Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

I'm a gospel drummer and I must say this snare fits my style of playing and also is versatile for studio work. My only complaint is the throw slips from time to time. Other than that, I would recommend this snare to anybody, no matter the genre!

Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

I have been playing drums over 35 years now and have toured the entire North American Continent back in the 80's and early 90's. I still gig today... but in my own area. I have always been a firm believer that no snare drum is worth more than a grand. In fact, this snare drum sounds better than my buddy's that he had custom made by Truth Drums! He paid close to a grand and it sounds kind of flat and dead. He's also tried various heads and strainers, too. What I did with this snare drum is immediately installed a Focus X head by Aquarian, added an S-Hoop by BIG BANG for more rigidity and great rim shots... then added a FAT CAT strainer and tuned it to mid tone and DONE. It sound freakin' AWESOME!!

Comments about Ludwig Supralite Steel Snare Drum:

I got this instrument on Christmas Day and was absolutely astonished by durabilty and the quality, But until last night did i get the hear the sound. It was incredibly solid and loud! But i put a Remo Black X batter on the top and it absolutely cut over the guitar with great tone and great admiration. The only problem i found with it was the factory heads and the snare strainer. Probally' because i am used to box throw off's and dislike factory heads. But other then that. It's a great drum for a very great price! If you want loud and heavy on a great budget, Then youv'e found It.
