Big attack and a lively bright tone to cut through the mix.
Like its Maple counterpart, this Meridian birch shell pack employs the same lightweight and ergonomic Isolated Tom Mounting System for maximum resonance and sustain. The Meridian's thin birch shells offer plenty of attack and remarkably bright tone. The result is astounding projection and cutting power.
Made to satisfy the whims of the busy modern club player.

Comments about Mapex Meridian Birch SRO 5-piece Shell Pack:
This is one I would put at the top of my list for the price.
If you are looking to pick it up a notch and do not want to spend a lot of money? Then this is a great set for you. You get med Yamaha, Tama, Pear, and PDP quality at a SP Price.
Pros: Great sound with G2 heads and thin tone rings. Just enough cut plently of volume. The Toms tune up great and have great attack and mid range tone. The kick has a good tune with the EMAD head lose front head. The kick provides plenty of punch for any venue. 6 ply birch drums 100% birch. Hardware is new to Mapex yet is dead on for this kit. Light weight tom mount system on mounts to bass drum.
Cons: The stock heads are just that. Change them to G2's and the kick drum to EMAD. The snare with an Evans coated top and snare side standard head. The kick should have been an 8 ply, but still not bad for the price at all. Just remember it is thinner when transporting.
The snare is not on par with the rest of kit. It is an average kit included snare.
The best value in the price range.
