A pro-quality and mid-range kit with classic style and bright to deep tones.
The Mapex Meridian Maple SRO Shell Pack strikes a perfect balance of beauty, performance and value in all maple drum sets. This shell pack features warm, punchy and resonant 7-ply maple shells that come in a variety of beautifully hand-applied lacquers. Also featured are newly designed chrome or black lugs.
Meridian's lightweight and easy to position Isolated Tom Mounting System (ITS), makes set-up quick and easy and provides optimized resonance. Single-point-of-contact lugs and spring-loaded floor tom legs limit tension on hoops and shells to help maximize sustain, while 2.3mm power hoops deliver a cutting rimshot and accent.
This shell pack also contains a matching version of Mapex's top-of-the-line snare, the Black Panther. The drum features Sonic Saver Hoops which, striking a balance between flanged and die cast hoops, reduce wear and tear on sticks and hands while maximizing rimshots and accents. With hand-built quality and a completely redesigned piston-like throw off, this snare is light years from a shell pack "throw-in." To ensure out-of-the-box quality and punctuate the immense value of this shell pack, all drums are equipped with single-ply Remo coated batter drumheads.
Meridian Maple configurations are available as shell packs. Hardware sets may be purchased separately. Cymbals also sold searately.

Comments about Mapex Meridian Maple SRO Shell Pack w/Matching Black Panther Snare Drum:
my opinion so far is they are a good sounding kit. I only have the stock heads on right now. better heads would make a big difference. they seem to tune pretty well and keep tune. they project well also. lots of timber compared to what I had. I had an older 80's pearl export poplar set. hardware is descent quality. shells have one screw lugs. at first I didn't know what to think about that. I am guessing the less amount of penetration into the shell gains better timber. each lug also has a plastic gasket between the lug and shell. color looks great. the black panther snare sounds good. I love the throw off on it. very smooth and easy to use. the bass drum sounds good and deep. I think its a good sounding kit. tweak to your desire as with any kit. my opinion is its a good kit worth the money.
